Mount Pleasant Attic room +Small room with balcony

Hi, everyone!

We are roommates from a 5BR/1Bath row house in Mount Pleasant, looking for a new roommate to move into our large north facing bedroom with a balcony. Our home is within walking distance of Mt. Pleasant St, Columbia Heights Metro station, Rock Creek Park trails, and Adams Morgan. Our one-way tree street is quiet and peaceful but well connected. Mt. Pleasant is a great neighborhood to live in - if you live in DC, you already know! There is a weekly farmers market, community events, and great bars & restaurants nearby. Grocery stores in Columbia Heights are a 12 minute walk away. There is street parking available with a permit. The C61 runs on the street and the D6X, D60, D72 and D74 bus lines are 2 blocks away.

About the space: It's a charming attic space with exposed brick, wood floors, a bedroom and a separate office/living space. Rent is $800 per month for the attic and $670 for the small room with a shared balcony plus utilities (average $80-$150 a month over the year). We also pay $40/month per person for a monthly cleaning service. The lease opens on June 1, but the space will be available to move in starting May 20 for pro-rated rent. The space is currently furnished as pictured with a bed, mattress, dresser, couch, desk, chairs, and side table. However, if you have your own furniture to bring, we can arrange to have it unfurnished.

The house is a 5 BR/1 Bath. You would be the fifth roommate! The house does not have central AC (we use window units) and it has radiant heating. The living spaces and kitchen on the main level are fully furnished/stocked, but we could rearrange things if you have furniture you’d like to bring. There are four bedrooms + our one bathroom on the second level. There is a full unfinished basement which we use for storage and laundry. There is a front yard + front porch and a backyard + covered back porch. It's an older but charming house with lots of common area space to enjoy. We’ve loved hosting friends in this house for cozy reading nights in the living room, barbecues on the back porch, etc.

Our ideal roommate is friendly, responsible, tidy and a clear/responsive communicator. The current four roommates are three women and one man, ages 23-26. Pets are not allowed per our lease, but ESA animals, service animals, etc. may be allowed and we are all willing to live with pets. Reach out to us to discuss more.
