I'm looking for two new roommates to move into a house I’m renting, and here is a listing for one of the open rooms:

The Open Room (primary bedroom)
- 176 square feet of open floor space
- Walk-in closet (45 square feet)
- Private en suite bathroom with shower, bathtub and 2 sinks (108 square feet)
- $1,700 a month + utilities
- Available May 2, 2026

The House
- 1 roommate (me)
- 1,950 square feet
- 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms
- In-unit washer and dryer
- Full kitchen with dishwasher
- 2 furnished living rooms
- Street parking (but it's fairly easy to find spots)

The Location
- Shoreview neighborhood in San Mateo
- 7-min drive to downtown San Mateo
- 7-min drive to San Mateo Caltrain station
- 10-min walk to Bay Trail
- Close proximity to 101 highway

The Contract
- Month-to-month contract with a 2-month notice required to vacate
- Landlord requires credit and background check before approval

About Me:
I’m a 36-year old man working at a small bookstore. I live a pretty quiet life and spend most of my time at home reading or watching TV (with headphones on if it’s late evening hours). In a shared living situation, I try my best to make the situation work for everyone - I clean up after myself, treat people with respect, listen to feedback, and compromise. Ultimately, I just want a home that’s clean, peaceful and harmonious.

A few other things about me - I play percussion in a community concert band, so I’d love to jam sometime if you play an instrument! I also have a wide variety of interests, and some of the things I like include TV ensemble comedies (Parks & Rec, The Good Place, etc.), Janelle Monae’s music, Kazuo Ishiguro’s novels, RPG video games, Minnesota Timberwolves basketball, and heavily discounted donuts on the Too Good to Go app.
