Furnished Room for rent. Howard County $950

My name is Del. I'm a professional, 43 yr old, african american male, full time rehabilitation program manager living in the north laurel area (howard county). I'm looking for a tenant/roommate to rent out this upstairs bedroom for $950/month, including utilities, internet/cable. I'm the owner of this property. This is a month to month lease, for up to 12 months, starting Sun March 1st, 2026 (option to renew lease after 12 months). There is a $475.00 security deposit. Also there will be an application fee of $47.00 that will include a background and rental history check, covered by applicant (fee will be subtracted from 1st month's rent once applicant passes background check).

There is currently one other male tenant, in his 40’s who lives in the basement and has his own entrance through the garage (he has been a tenant in the house for 10 yrs). I'm looking for one tenant for a 1 bedroom and 1 private bathroom in this 4 bedroom 3 bathroom, single family home, in a safe residential neighborhood. The upstairs bedroom, living room, bathroom, kitchen, basement, is fully furnished.

I'm looking for someone who is more of a backpacker (doesn't have furniture, since the bedroom is fully furnished with a queen bed, dressers/drawers, mounted 32 inch smart tv, fios cable HD box (all premium channels), etc. There is a shared washer and dryer, shared kitchen. I'm looking for someone laid back, professional and willing to keep the house fairly tidy. I have a housekeeping service that comes in once a month to clean the entire house. I'm looking to move out in April so i'm also advertising the master bedroom with private his & her bath. Please reach out if you're interested.
