Hi!
I am currently searching for 2BR/2BA that are under $4000 total (in fact I see many that are around $3000), and am simultaneously searching for a roomie who would be interested in sharing such a space. I love North Bay for access to trails, forest, and ocean. Below is more about me and the space I'm looking for. If it interests you please get in touch.
About Me:
I'm Julie (33F) and I have degrees in Cultural Anthropology and Music Therapy. I've worked as a music therapist with a variety of populations, as an Air Traffic Controller, and now I work for a different government job that lets me?learn languages and travel. Because of working with very different types of people in these jobs and because I've moved around a lot (NYC, Texas, Chicago, Vancouver, Maine, Bolivia, Argentina, Costa Rica, Jordan, Spain, Italy) I genuinely enjoy all kinds of people.??Ways I enjoy spending my time include:?tango?dancing, flamenco guitar and dance, MMA & Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, meditation, nature, living abroad, languages, adventuring, stand-up comedy, doing things that scare me, scuba diving, rock climbing, experimenting in the kitchen, hiking, skiing, surfing, natural wine, mixology, and laughing so hard I cry. I've never found the dichotomy to be too helpful, but I suppose I'm an extroverted introvert or an introverted extrovert - I enjoy being around groups of people/game nights/dinners with long convos but also enjoy peaceful alone time. I typically work standard hours M-F and am currently mostly WFH, but occasionally going to the office in the Financial District.?
Roomie Considerations:
- I am very clean (e. g., I don't wear outside shoes inside, I clean up dishes after cooking) and would want to share the space with a roomie who is up for keeping common areas clean/tidy so that everyone can enjoy them. (That said, you should see my bedroom if I've had a crazy week at work - a friend once said, "Looks like hurricane season in here.")
- LGBTQ+ friendly and open to all genders
- Open to any age above mid-20s
- Pet friendly, in fact, bonus points if you have a cuddly, playful dog!!
- Non-smokers only, and?I can't live in a 420 household due to work, sorry :(
- My best roommate experiences have involved self-aware, honest communicators who are considerate of each other and allowed a roomie/friend dynamic to naturally unfold. My worst one was transactional and involved unspoken expectations...I definitely prefer the former approach!??
Logistics:
- Looking to move in ~ Sept 15th
- Considering a 12-15 month lease (I'll be looking to stay til ~March 2022)
- Prices I'm seeing per room in this area for gorgeous places with outdoor decks to enjoy would be anywhere from $1200 - $2000 per room, depending on how big and how updated the available homes are
- Common areas (kitchen, dining room, living room) will be totally furnished with high-quality, cozy, comfortable furniture and kitchen appliances that I own.?
- Bedrooms are unfurnished.
Get in touch if any of this speaks to you and you might be interested in co-creating a lovely, cozy, peaceful, friendly home!??If not, good luck with your search!
