1800 bedroom/shared bath in 4bd/3ba at Grove St.

We have an open bedroom in our apartment and want to fill it with another great roommate. We live in a two-story, 3,200sf loft apartment on the 9th and 10th floor of a converted factory, in the heart of downtown Jersey City at the Grove St. PATH. The space is a 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom two-story loft with two bedrooms on each floor. The room available is one of the two downstairs. It is approximately 15' x 10' and has 11' ceilings.

Apart from the large bedroom with amazing views of Manhattan, the apt features a large foyer with closet space and a large kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances. There is a large dining area with new furniture. Off of the dining area are two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. One bedroom would be yours, and you would share the downstairs bathroom with a male roommate. Beyond our dining room is our huge living room with 25' high ceilings and 16 windows overlooking Manhattan, downtown JC, and the Statue of Liberty.

Up the staircase is a smaller family room with couches and a TV, and the other two bedrooms and bathrooms.

The apartment is furnished, and your room could either come unfurnished or with some basic furnishings including a bed, dresser, chair, and nightstand. The apt is heated and cooled by central air and we have Comcast for cable/WIFI. The building does not have any amenities, but the size and space are not typical for downtown JC. There is a small parking lot and garage associated with the building, but it is not included with the apartment. A spot has to be acquired from management.

About you: We are looking for someone that is chill, stable, easy-going, and wants to stay for a while (at least one year). We want someone who is financially stable, who we don't have to hound for rent and utilities each month. Cleanliness is also important--a little clutter is cool, dishes growing things is not. We don't have any pets, but we are willing to consider having a well-behaved pooch become part of our home and our family. We are open and do not have guidelines for guests/visitors/friends or using the common space other then just being considerate of others and giving everyone a heads up if you'll be having a bunch of friends over or overnight guests (of the non sleeping in your bed variety). This is our home and we want it to become yours as well.

About us: We are easy-going, youngish professionals. Two guys, one gal. Our schedules are different, but if we're home together in the evenings, we will hang out and watch TV together. The lady lawyer bakes and is happy to share with you. Even though the apartment houses three people, it is so large that you will never feel cramped or that you can't escape to your own space.

The Details: The rent is $1,800 a month, not including utilities. PSEG can run as high as $100 per person during the summer (due to AC) and as low as $40 a person in the other three seasons. Cable/internet is typically $63 per person (though if you rent movies could be higher). We also have a cleaning lady who comes twice a month and is $45 per person for the month. We would be asking for 1.5 months deposit ($2,700) and first month's rent when you sign the sublease and then rent is due on 1st of each month. The space is available for rent now.
