One bedroom available for rent in Shaw

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a new female roommate in the charming Shaw/Le Droit Park area, very close to U-Street. It's a 5-min walk from the Shaw-Howard Metro Station and a less than 5-min walk to several bus routes. It's a 10-min walk to Whole Foods, and a quick 5-10 min bus ride to Harris Teeter and Trader Joe's.

The building is a row house: 2 bed, 1.5 bath, located on the third floor of a three-story building.

The room for rent is the master bedroom with two closets and plenty of windows. Rent is $1600. Utilities round out to $100-150. We do have renter's insurance ($20). There is a portion of the security deposit that will need to be paid before moving in ($1500). There is a $250 fee for a tenant switch. Move in date would be October 1st.

No pets, I’m allergic.

The bathroom is shared. We have a full kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, and fridge. There is also an in-unit washer/dryer.

It is a month-to-month lease that starts when you move in and can be renewed in October 2027. The ideal person would want to stay until next Spring/Summer.

About me: I'm in my mid-twenties and work remotely for a media company! I'm fairly new to DC; I love to travel, hang out with friends, and explore the city! I value cleanliness and tidiness in a roommate, so someone who picks up in shared spaces often is a must. Someone who is progressive and queer-friendly is required. Not interested in rooming with someone who smokes or uses cannabis.
