Basement suite available December 8!

Hi, everyone! I’m moving out of the area and posting for a room at a lovely, COVID-conscious, leftist Petworth group house. The room is a large, cozy basement unit with a private bathroom, TV, and kitchenette (microwave, toaster oven, full sink, sizeable mini fridge) at $1,336/month ($1196 rent and $140 for all utilities, fixed). Deposit is $1733.32 due to a quirk in the rental agreement, through which we are paying a lower “concession” rate of rent for the current term and the deposit does not exceed the actual full amount of rent. This is outlined in more detail in the lease. Has been rented to a couple before (rent/utility split negotiable).

The house is situated a block from restaurants, 6 blocks from the Georgia Avenue-Petworth metro, 2-4 blocks from grocery stores, and a block from the farmers market. There are two sets of washer/dryers in the house, two refrigerators and three freezers, ample common space, a spacious plantable garden and comfy outdoor seating with firepit. Off-street parking is available. Utilities (electricity, gas, water, internet) are $700/month - split amongst the members of the house. There is one wonderful cat in the house, and one on the way. Further pets in the household would be difficult though maybe not impossible to negotiate with the landlord.

We're COVID conscious, and everyone in the house is vaxxed and boosted, masks indoors in locations outside of the home. Over the years we have had masking and testing agreements that have changed to meet the needs of the individuals in the house.

Future roommates include:
Jazzy - nonbinary - I'm an aries, cat parent in my late 20s. I am a freelance theatre worker (which means I have late/weird hours).

Lauren - trans fem - an errant goof with big interests in music (singing, piano, banjo), games, worldbuilding and muay thai! If you speak French I'm out of practice, but I'd love a speaking buddy!

Grayson - nonbinary - cat parent in my late 20s working retail while taking classes. when i'm not at work you can find me watching dnd or a horror movie while working on whatever latest art project i'm fixated on.

One other housemate - lease takeover in progress.

Sawyer + Doorbell - cats - We are the best cats in the world. It is an honor for you to get to pet me. Why aren't you petting me now? MEOW.
