Denver is the top city for wellness

Los Angeles may have the reputation as the wellness capital of the US, but according to new data from roommate site SpareRoom, if you want to find people who are passionate about a healthy & holistic lifestyle, you're better off looking in Denver, or Portland, or pretty much anywhere other than LA.

These were the top wellness cities:

1. Denver, CO
2. Portland, OR
3. Charlotte, NC
4. San Diego, CA
5. San Antonio, TX

SpareRoom analyzed data based on what over 47,000 roommates listed as their interests. Not only does LA not feature in the top 5 cities for wellness, it actually comes in third from bottom of the list, followed by only Chicago and New York.

The cities with the least interest in wellness are:

1. New York, NY
2. Chicago, IL
3. Los Angeles, CA
4. San Francisco Bay Area, CA
5. Philadelphia, PA

Matt Hutchinson, spokesperson for SpareRoom comments: “Los Angeles is often portrayed as a city full of clean eaters and healthy livers, but it turns out there are lots of cities where the locals are more wellness focussed, starting with Denver.

And if you want to live a healthy life it makes sense to live with roommates who also want to eat a balanced diet, work out and be mindful. It'll encourage you to stick to your routine and give you people to share your interest with.”
