January 2024 - Infamously January is the month that people decide to give up drinking, otherwise known as ‘Dry January’. This may be for health reasons, to save money or simply to set a new challenge!
New data from the number 1 roommate finder, SpareRoom, shows that Los Angeles is the city that enjoys drinking the least, and therefore is most likely to see Dry January through.
SpareRoom analyzed data based on what over 47,000 roommates listed as their interests.
These are the cities where people are least interested in drinking alcohol:
On the other hand, Washington D.C. is the booziest city followed by Denver and Atlanta.
Matt Hutchinson, SpareRoom spokesperson comments: “January is always a popular month for setting new challenges and, due to how indulgent the holiday season can be, cutting down on alcohol is always a popular choice.
It’s easier to make lifestyle changes when you live with people who share the same goals as you, it appears for those not so interested in drinking LA, Houston and Sacramento are the places to be!”
