Cities with the cleanest roommates

April 2024 - Cleanliness is one of the biggest concerns people have when living with roommates. People have different standards, and what's untidy or dirty to you might not be to someone else. That’s why when choosing a new roommate, it’s important to make sure everyone shares similar standards when it comes to cleaning.

SpareRoom analyzed data from over 47,000 roommates, based on what they listed as their interests in their profiles. We then ranked the cities where you’d be most likely to find roommates that prioritize having a clean home.

Our research revealed that if cleaning is a high priority for you, Charlotte, San Antonio and Philadelphia are the places to find like-minded roommates.

The roommates most into cleaning live in:

3. Philadelphia, PA
4. Virginia Beach, VA
5. Dallas, TX

The roommates least into cleaning live in:

1. Portland, OR
2. Washington D.C.
3. Seattle, WA
4. New York, NY
5. Chicago, IL
