The home features numerous amenities, to be shared with 2 other well-vetted tenants and Ben, the “house father”. Ben has been living in the house for a few years and knows his way around. The other 3 rooms recently became available.

The room has original oak flooring (refinished), a comfy seating area with a view, and a large closet. This isn’t just a room though. It’s a shared household. There’s plenty of room for entertaining (within the boundaries of consideration for co-tenants of course), and even accommodations for overnight guests. The 4,500 sq. foot home was built in 1941, but lovingly updated recently, with all new electric, plumbing & heating systems & new dual glazed windows.

The adjacent bathroom is shared with one other bedroom. It features a tub/shower unit with curved doors for plenty of elbow room

There is one thing that I consider a feature- natural cooling. If you like it frigid in the summer you’ll probably disagree though. (Full disclosure.) There is no A/C. With the trees and the ceiling fans and the cool basement air circulating through the house it’s always comfortable though (and it’s cheap). On the rare heat wave days it can get up into the high 70’s / low 80’s inside- quite pleasant with the fans on.

Monthly rent is $675 plus 1/4 of water & gas & electric costs (averaging about $90 per month). Trash pick-up is included in rent. Preferred lease term is one year, but negotiable. 1st month’s rent (pro-rated if appropriate) & $675 security deposit is required to move in. There is no application fee if you can provide a copy of a credit report.
