Welcome to our cozy eclectic, cottage-core-in-the-making home in Northgate! We are 4 roommates looking for someone who will mesh well with us. 6 roommates total. This house is a home!🌻💚 The house is currently in a big transitional period with the former “house parents” leaving, and our new ones giving it a new life, paving over some bumps left behind. This is a neurospicy, mostly queer, disabled-mixed home, ages ranging from 20 to 40. We’ve got various backgrounds but overall we’re fairly nerdy, creative folks.

This is overall a chill environment and we have friends over often, but not often a place of parties. More like tea parties. The beauty with multiple people is that you can hide in your cave, or come socialize with whoever’s out n about!

We have a fairly communal environment with food and supplies for everyone, as that comes naturally with a house of this size. For cleaning we have a chore chart + individuals doing 30min deep cleaning per month. Maintaining a house of this size does require a bit of work from everyone.
Relatedly: there’s also some informal mutual aid as desired where applicable (more below).

🐈🐈‍⬛ Animals:
We have 1 senior cat who has reign of the house. She does NOT mesh well with other animals, but she is a social butterfly and loves her people and snuggles, and attention. We can make an exception for a well trained small to medium sized dog who can leave her alone.

61, 67, 348, 322… plenty of busses either a 2 or 8-10min walk away.
Light rail station is just over 10min away by bus.

Utilities not included in rent, but we currently just pay a flat rate to our rent person that covers it sufficiently. This will be updated at the new lease as we get more utility conscious people & don’t have to pay as much in bills.

Year long lease only. Ends March 31st, and usually rent increases are ~$250 total (so split between 6 people is fairly reasonable). NOTE: the $1550 is considering the upcoming lease, so it’s actually only ~1500 right now.

BIG open yard with multiples shed storages. 1 story gated home. Nearby street parking + driveway available. Not wheelchair accessible.
Washer, dryer, dishwasher (getting fixed), and there’s 2 people per fridge. Gas stove + dryer.
Fire pit, attic, open kitchen, lots of communal food + opportunities to lower your grocery bill.
Various mutual aid opportunities (such as cooking, professional cleaning / organizing, massages, clothing mending)…

NOTE: currently we have a small trash bin for 6 people… you must be resource and trash conscious due to this. We have recycling and compost.
