We're looking for new housemates to join our large, quiet home in North Capitol Hill. We're hoping to build a community of compassionate and considerate folks who are looking for more than just a place to sleep. Think of us as living with friends instead of strangers, but not a full-blown co-op with mandatory house dinners — a real home that feels like a sanctuary, with people who are genuinely committed to sharing it.

We have one dog and cannot accommodate any more pets. We can only accommodate one person per room. If this sounds like the kind of home you're looking for, read on!

Available Rooms:

We have three rooms becoming available on the 2nd floor. Shared bathroom. First month and $960 deposit required for move-in.

Room 1 — Northwest-Facing Room | $950/month | Available April 15
Can pro-rate move-in for any day in April.
A cozy 11.5×12 ft room with an open closet with built-in shelves, north and west-facing windows, and beautiful sunset views. Plenty of natural light throughout the day.

Room 2 — Southwest-Facing Suite | $1,095/month | Available May 1
Two 9.5×13ft rooms make up this spacious suite with an open closet, built-in drawers and storage cabinets, and 8 south and west-facing windows. Exceptionally bright and sunny.

Room 3 — Attic Suite | $1,035/month | Available May 1
A unique two-room suite spanning the 2nd and 3rd floors. The 2nd floor room features east-facing windows, while the 3rd floor is a carpeted attic space with slanted ceilings and a private west-facing balcony with sweeping views of Puget Sound. Please note this space is not a great fit for anyone who identifies as tall. With communication, the balcony is accessible and enjoyed by everyone in the house.

About the House:

- 3-story house with a daylight basement
- 5 current human residents + 1 dog
- Utilities ~$120/month
- Fully furnished, plant and sun-filled communal dining room and living room with fireplace
- Large kitchen with a dedicated storage closet for appliances and bulk items
- Washer/dryer in the basement
- Storage/bike room on the main floor
- Outdoor spaces: furnished back patio with container garden and communal balcony with a Space Needle view
- On the #49 bus line for easy commuting
- Free street parking
- Accessibility note: All entrances have steps.
- Scent note: We burn candles, incense, and herbs regularly and are not able to make the home scent-free.
- All vaping and smoking done outside

About Us:
Values-wise, we are an anti-racist, pro-community, fat-positive, LGBTQ+, firearm-free, and vaccinated household. Our current housemates include:

An international tech worker with a passion for knitting & languages (35, she/her)

An environmentalist who loves travel & music (25, she/her, gluten-free)

A postpartum doula with a passion for animals & nature (36, she/her, queer, vegan)

And a 7-year-old rescue pup (40 lbs, Shepherd/Collie mix) whose main passions include cuddles, treats, and protecting the house from squirrels & mail carriers 🐾

We keep our home clean and running smoothly with a rotating chore chart and hold 3–4 house meetings per year to make sure we're all on the same page. Someone who is familiar with the seasonal needs of a large, multi-level house would be an excellent fit. While we have varying schedules, we are a generally quiet household and respect quiet hours based on a 9–5 workweek.

Our home is social but low-key — we enjoy organically connecting in common areas when we're not in a rush or just waking up. Most of us travel for several weeks or months throughout the year, so it's rare we're all home at once. When we do get the chance to gather, we enjoy cooking (often separately but together), gardening, crafting, puzzles, art, fires, TV, listening to music, dancing, singing, playing instruments, yoga, meditation, and good conversations over wine or cider. We also love live music, musical theater, and hosting friends and family while being mindful of shared spaces.

We're looking for housemates to sign a one-year lease beginning May 1 who are genuinely committed to building a peaceful home together.

Must be comfortable around rescue dogs! Our pup takes time to warm up — this won't be a great fit if you're nervous around barking or want to bring dogs over often.
