Hello. We are looking for a friendly, kind, and courteous room mate. We aspire to be the same for you. :)

Location:

The house is in a prime location, directly on the 7 bus route, which goes downtown, to the U of M, and toward Minnehaha falls. We are also just a couple blocks off of the C rapid-transit route, which comes every 10 minutes, and brings you to downtown Minneapolis in 15 minutes flat.

If you enjoy biking, there is easy access (<.5 mile, all on bike lanes) to the beautiful Minneapolis greenway and bike trail system. For a good ride, bike to the chain of lakes and around lake Calhoun. It is awesome.

Many of us get around by car. If you work anyplace North, South, or West of downtown Minneapolis, the you wont have to deal with traffic anymore. Because the majority of cars go toward the center of the city in the morning and away in the evening, those of us making the opposite drive get to wave and smile as we pass the stopped traffic on the other side of the divider. :)

Lastly, we are 6 blocks (1/2 mile) from a 759 acre park, Theodore Wirth Park. It won the Citypages "Best Park of the Twin Cities" award. I love going to the lake, swimming, watching beach volleyball, and using the mountain-bike trails, all within walking distance of my home. They also have an 18-hole golf course and cross country ski trails.

All in all, the location provides easy access to many avenues of transportation and recreation.

The house:

The home is a well-maintained 1926 bungalo, complete with hutch and hardwood floors. The free room is 11 1/2 ft by 10 1/2 ft, with 2 windows and a closet, and dons brand new carpet, a new overhead light fixture, and a fresh paint-job. If you will be joining us for a while, you are welcome to make the space your own and paint or decorate it as you wish (it may need to be painted when you leave if you get really creative, though :) ).

One thing to note: The kitchen is currently patched for painting and prime for a remodel when the funds are next available. There are also some spots in the carpet where one of the cats has tried to dig under the door to cuddle up next to a human. That behavior is currently blocked with a rubber welcome matt at the doorway, so you can't even see those areas.

The people:

I, Andy, am a 40 year old engineer, computer programmer and entrepreneur. I enjoy playing volleyball, biking, and designing things and companies. I value sleep, and try to keep volume levels comfortable for all. :)

Jetty is a respectful, and laid-back, artist in her 20s who enjoys going for walks, gaming, and attending Caravan Palace concerts.

When fully rented, the house fits 4 people. I travel sometimes, so I may or may not be there at any given time (then it would have just 3).

Rent:
Rent is normally $749, but if you choose to take care of the house and yard as it if it was your own, I can offer a $150 discount, making rent $599 instead.

PS. Utilities (up to a limit) are included. Wireless and wired Internet is provided, as is in-house laundry. Non-smokers only please, as fresh air is nice.
