Private Bed & Bath in Historic Jackson Ward

Looking for a roommate for a really beautiful 2 bed / 2 bath apartment in Jackson Ward starting October 1st. An early move-in is also possible anytime during September, and September would be free.

Rent is $2,200 total, so $1,100 each, which we would begin paying on October 1st. The apartment is the upstairs portion of the house, and the downstairs will operate as an Airbnb.
The house was recently gut-renovated, so it has the best of both worlds: a ton of historic Richmond character, but everything feels fresh and updated. Hardwood floors, big windows, original details, a fireplace, renovated bathrooms, in-unit laundry, and generally just a very cool old-house vibe.

Details:
• $1,100/month per person
• 2 bedrooms / 2 bathrooms
• House will come unfurnished
• One month’s rent for the security deposit
• Utilities not included; we’d split them evenly
• No pets
• No smoking in the house
• 10-month lease, expiring at the end of July
• 12-month lease the following year if we decide to renew
• Downstairs unit will be an Airbnb

A little about me: I’m a queer writer/journalist and author who recently moved to Richmond. I freelance for magazines and local publications and also work in hospitality. I’m pretty easygoing and am looking for someone I can comfortably share a home with — respectful, communicative, reasonably clean, and generally has their sh*t together.

Open to a roommate of any gender. Politically, I’m definitely looking for someone who leans left/progressive and is LGBTQ-friendly. Basically: be cool, be kind, and let’s have a home that feels comfortable for both of us.
