Own Room + Utilities in Exchange for Housekeeping

I receive some help paying my rent, and under that agreement I can have a roommate who takes responsibility for routine housekeeping. I’m not allowed to charge that person rent, so the exchange is housekeeping rather than money. Utilities are also included. The housekeeping should generally only take a few hours per week and can be done on your own schedule. You are not responsible for cleaning up after me.

The bedroom is approximately 9' × 10'7", including the closet, and has a very large window. The room is for one person only.

I’m non-label, except for the labels that I have chosen, which are reincarnated Viking, autistic metal artist (sculptures, not music).

I like building things, being outdoors, camping, and working on weird projects. I’m happiest when I’m doing things with other people.

I’m looking for a friendly roommate relationship, rather than simply sharing an address with someone I rarely interact with. You should still have your own life, work, interests, friends, reliable income, and transportation.

I’m LGBTQ-friendly, NeuroSpicy-friendly, and psychedelic-friendly. Because we would be sharing a home, basic social and political compatibility matters to me. Trump/MAGA supporters would not be a good fit. Common sense and consideration are necessities, along with honesty, reliability, direct and respectful communication, following through, and letting me know when plans change.

There will also occasionally be things we work on together, such as organizing or other household projects. There is limited storage, so this is best suited to someone who does not have a large amount of stuff to move in.

This is not emergency housing or a good fit for someone currently going through a major personal or financial crisis. You should have a reasonably stable life and somewhere else you could go if the arrangement ends.

I tend to keep the home warm, currently around 76°F, because I’m often cold. I don’t feel as cold when there is someone else there whose energy meshes well with mine, so it may not need to stay that warm all the time.

I appreciate the house being relatively quiet after midnight because I usually go to sleep around then. That doesn’t mean you can’t watch TV, cook, or do normal things; I just prefer not to be woken up.

No smoking anywhere on the property, including cannabis. Vaping, including cannabis, is okay. Alcohol is fine as long as drinking does not interfere with behavior, reliability, responsibilities, or the household.

Guests and partners may visit but cannot live here. Overnight guests are okay occasionally, generally no more than three nights in a row. Everyone needs to be considerate, and disruptive guests may no longer be welcome.

No pets, although one service or emotional-support dog may possibly be considered.

There is no set duration, and either of us can end the arrangement at any time. If I’m the one ending it, I would normally give 2 weeks to 1 month of notice, unless there is a major issue that makes continuing to live together unworkable. If you decide to leave, I would appreciate similar notice when possible.
