Mid-Tier Luxury? Colorful Furniture? Come Get it!
Hi folks, and welcome to my page! I have a room to rent in East Austin, conveniently located 10 minutes from downtown. Furthermore, I am right by 183, which is easily the least-awful freeway in Austin. That means you will be an Austin-standard 15 to 20 minutes from just about anywhere your heart desires. Downtown, and the Town Lake trail are also pretty bikeable.
Now, onto the home: my living room prioritizes comfort, but that does not mean it lacks style. I own a few fine, artisanal pieces (aka they're homemade) featuring bright colors (aka somehow at least a small amount of pink ends up on everything), and I also used to build stuff for a living so they aren't total POS's. There are also many fine rugs throughout the home. Sorry to disappoint, but I don't crochet or knit, and thus did not make those.
My kitchen is fully stocked, well used and well loved. After an extended fight with the criminals at Whirlpool, my refrigerator/freezer (WITH icemaker) has been returned to full function.
Your room is a comfortable space, and I might even be able to throw in some furnishings. You will have a private bathroom. Unfortunately it is not ensuite, but you will have your own bathtub, also comfortably sized. So if you, like me, enjoy a good soak, hop in line.
Now onto a more divisive topic: I own a piano. If you like to play piano, this is a huge win for you. If you enjoy listening to piano, I promise to practice furiously before your arrival. If you prefer to luxuriate in a roommate that is quite as a mouse, this may not be the place for you. Which brings me to my next divisive topic:
I have a woodshop in my garage and am periodically am consumed in a fit of creativity and simply must build some furniture. If I don't make it my own, then this house sure ain't a home! Plus, I'm divorced and this is part of the healing process (I'll add in that I am AMICABLY divorced, NOT divorced because I was a bad roommate!!!!). If you're into wood stuff, I might let you use it, after sufficient trust has been established.
I have a front yard, back yard and usually do a seasonal vegetable garden if you're into that sort of thing. I also have a literal white picket fence. What I'm trying to say, people, is that I'm wholesome as hell.
In me, you get both a landlord, and a roommate (think well used, but would still pull in some $$$ at a trendy thrift store). I'm sober- you certainly don't have to be, but if you tie one off every night and yell at this TV this may not be the home for you. I'm respectful, emotionally mature and comfortable drawing boundaries when needed. I love activities, don't use social media, am a local and never gave up on Keep Austin Weird.
