Looking for a down-to-earth roommate to share my place on the east side!

I restored a historic duplex in East Austin and ran it as a successful Airbnb for years. Happy to send you the listing if you want to check out the place and its reviews.

I’m 37, work freelance, and run my own business. I spend my free time working on the house or in the garden.

My boyfriend Dominic is 36 and works as a software engineer. I’m bias, but he’s the best and very easy to live with.

How the property is set up:

There’s a large main house comprised of two wings. This bedroom is on the east wing of the house. You’d primarily be sharing that part of the house with Dominic, who works from home a couple of days a week (he’s got an in-home office).

I work out of my RV, which is also on the property, so I’m around but have my own separate space.

There are 4 separate dwellings on the property so you may see people in the yard. It’s a nice vibe.

About the room:

* Fully furnished with a queen bed, dresser, standing desk, and TV with Roku
* Large walk-in closet
* Access to a shared second-story balcony
* Private HVAC system for your own temperature control
* Bathroom shared only with Dominic, who is very clean
* House cleaned weekly

The property and neighborhood:

We have a big yard under the pecan trees, with a bonfire area and grill for hanging out outside. We’re also within walking distance of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and other East Austin spots. You get the convenience of being close to everything while having a more relaxed place to come home to.

Who we’re looking for:

Someone easygoing, considerate, and with their own things going on. Ideally, you don’t work from home full-time. We like a relaxed household where everyone does their own thing, respects each other’s space, and keeps shared areas reasonably clean.

The rental is month-to-month with a three-month minimum stay.

One heads-up: we already have quite a few animals on the property, so we can’t accommodate any additional pets. The pets typically don’t come into this wing of the house, but I wouldn’t live here if I was allergic to animals.
