I am looking for a special roommate for my mom. She is a very sweet 70 sumthin Korean lady. She lives in a 4 bedroom townhome and we are looking for the perfect roommate. One important note, my 12 year old nephew lives with her so if you aren't into kids this won't be a good fit. Also, she has a cat.

A little about the place. It's located at Marsh and Keller Springs. Plenty of street parking on a quiet street. Parks and restaurants nearby. My mom is in the MB downstairs. The other 3 bedrooms are upstairs. We have 2 rooms for rent. Both are furnished. The bathroom is basically a jack and jill set up where the toilet and shower is accessed by 2 doors so that would be shared with the other tenant. You will have you own sink area with the ability to lock that door. Your room is furnished and this is non negotiable, you would not be able to bring your own furniture. This is ALL BILLS PAID including Verizon Cable TV, Verizon FiOs Fiber internet, electricity, water, trash.

Here's who and what we are looking for. We want to make sure you are a good fit with mom/ We'd have you sign a one month lease just to make sure everyone gets along. If that works out then we would extend to a 3 month lease and if all looks good after that we could extend to a longer lease option. First months rent plus a $800 security deposit that you will get back if the room is left in original condition and all furniture is intact. $50 application fee that covers a background check. $700 security deposit for the small room and rent is $700/month.

Felons and sex offenders need not apply. We will actually be doing a full background check. $1,600 is the total move in cost for the large room and $1400 for the small room. We would set you up for VENMO payments. No checks or cash accepted. Please understand that I am looking for a roommate for my mom and thus I will be very picky about who we go with.

This would be a great fit for a college student or business traveler. Of course you are welcome to have a friend over but we are looking for someone who really just needs a quiet place to land. This part is pretty crucial. No pets and only single occupancy. No overnight guests.

A little bit more about my mom. She is a devout Christian and sometimes hosts Bible studies at the house. We would be looking for someone who is not bothered by her Faith.

So here's the scoop. I plan on narrowing the field down to a couple of select people and interviewing on the phone, I live in Austin. If it sounds like we have a good fit we'll organize a time for you to check out the house and meet mom. If all looks good we'll have you fill out an application, get the $50 from you and run a complete background check.
