Looking for roommate to rent vacant, unfurnished bedroom in apartment. I am a single male, 52 years old, San Francisco State Univ. alumni. I live a clean, laid back life. I listen to music and on occasion enjoy visitors. Shared apartment with previous roommate for 8 years.

I am interested in renting to a responsible, mature person who can be respectful of shared living quarters.

I live in the Alhambra apartment building built by Dunn and Kearns in 1916. The same architects as the Alcazar Theater, Castle and the Alhambra Theater on Polk. An Art Deco /Arabesque style building after the Alhambra palace in Spain. With a stunning ornate lobby, building is steeped in history. The Alhambra penthouse was purportedly once occupied by Rudolph Valentino, the Italian silent film star.

The building has an old-school San Francisco feel with a strong community of tenants. We watch each others pets and have movie and cocktail nights in the yard. Once-upon-a-time (pre-covid) we would have magicians and belly dancers on occasion. Come experience what San Francisco is all about at the Alhambra building.

There is a parking garage across the street or street parking. Walk score of 100. Friendly neighborhood market and trendy wine bar next door. Tons of restaurants and artisan bakeries nearby. Walking distance to Whole Foods, Trader Joe's and the Civic Center Farmers Market.

Two blocks from the New Sutter Hospital on Van Ness Avenue. Neighborhood full of artists and young professionals.

Move-in Requirements:
1st month plus last month as security deposit.
Landlord pays for water, heat, garbage. Tenant pays for gas and electric. Shared kitchen and bathroom. Internet optional.
