Sunlit room in Central Richmond single family home

Hey! I'm Alex, a technical recruiting agency owner currently pivoting careers into recovery coaching. Renting a private bedroom in my Central Richmond single-family home (I'm a renter as well, but we'd both be on a new lease as co-tenants).

It's a 3-bedroom, 1-bath house with a backyard, laundry in the garage, and high-speed fiber internet — all utilities included in the stated rent.

A few things to know upfront, because they'll matter to the right person:

1. The dogs. Two dogs — Jasper and Koda — live here full-time and have the run of the common areas and backyard. They're part of the house. If you have allergies or aren't a dog person, this isn't the right fit.

2. The kid. I have a 14-month-old son who's here regularly as part of a custody arrangement. Some days the house has toddler energy, other days it's quiet. Just a normal part of daily life here.

3. Work from home friendly. I work from a home office regularly, so I keep things reasonably quiet during normal work hours and appreciate the same. Remote work is totally fine on your end too.

4. Common spaces come furnished — sectional couch, wall-mounted TV, outdoor seating in the backyard. Quiet hours are 10pm–7am. No cigarettes or cannabinoids anywhere on the property.

5. Day-to-day I keep things clean and pulled-together, stay up on chores, and generally keep calm hours. I surf, work a lot, and occasionally have a friend over for dinner. Not a party household.

6. Looking for someone who communicates well, is genuinely good with dogs (100% of the time) + a toddler (50% of the time), and wants a stable, low-drama living situation.

Rent:$1,800/month — all utilities included (gas, electric, water, internet, laundry).
