Available May 1st (15th at the latest) - 12x13 private room with a walk in closet available in a 3bd/1.5ba flat in the Alamo Square/Lower Haight area. Rent and security are both $1250, for a total of $2500 due by move in. This room is open to WOMEN preferably, no double occupancy allowed. This is a middle room with a window to a large light well, so it gets minimal direct sunlight.

This early 1900s Edwardian flat is on the borders of Alamo Square, Lower Haight, and Hayes Valley, which means tons of shops, restaurants, bars, coffee, 2 parks, and easy public transit. We share one large bathroom and have another small bathroom for emergencies. The common area is spacious and full of light, with an eat in kitchen, living room, big back yard, small private deck, in house washer/dryer, central heating, and additional storage space under the house. Street parking only... and it can be very challenging.

You would be living with two other female roommates, ages 47 and 30. One is an apparel designer, teacher, and writer, while the other works in affordable housing development. We have a very warm and supportive roommate relationship and would hope to have a similar dynamic with the new roommate. Three roommates max when fully occupied. We also have two adolescent kitties. As much as it pains us to turn away other fuzzies, we're maxed out, so no other pets are allowed.

This is a well established home, so we're somewhat set in our ways. We value a tidy and fairly quiet environment and want to live with another woman who is well beyond her party phase. We are looking for a mature someone who has a full time day job during the week, can communicate about issues in the home in a healthy way, is very responsible with bills (the new roommate would be asked to have PG&E in their name), helps with cleaning, and knows how to keep things tidy in the common areas. We do most of our socializing outside of the house than in, preferring to keep the home more on the mellow and quiet side. The house is fully furnished, except for the room, so if you have a lot of stuff or are looking for someplace to redecorate, this probably wouldn't be the right choice. Absolutely NO drugs or heavy drinking please. Light to non-smokers preferred (outside only).

We share PG&E, Cable, Wireless Internet, cleaning responsibilities, and do a quarterly Costco run for essential house stuff.
