Looking for a Leftist Roommate <3

We are looking to rent 1 room in a 3 bedroom, 1 bathroom apartment starting January 1. This is a 6 month lease with the option to renew.

About the Apartment
The available room (12’6” L x 8’2” W) is unfurnished with a built-in closet. The rent is $740 a month with heat and water included. We split the cost of gas, electricity, internet, and household cleaning supplies evenly. Our combined utilities typically cost anywhere from $60-$100 each per month. There is a built-in AC in the living room.

The apartment is on the third floor of a three story townhouse. It is a 10-minute walk from the 61st St-Woodside subway station/LIRR and a 15-minute walk from the 65th St subway station. It is close to a variety of amenities including grocery stores, laundromats, banks, and gyms. It is one block from a non-profit hatha yoga center with classes 6 days a week and is also close to a community farm.

Our names are Hannah and Jolie and we are two women in our 20s and 30s.

About Hannah

Hello! My name is Hannah, my pronouns are she/her and I’m in my mid thirties. I’m hoping to find a roommate who has shared values and would enjoy some aspects of cooperative living like bulk grocery shopping or CSA shares, occasional cooking for each other, and/or doing mutual aid in our lovely Woodside neighborhood. I’d love to find someone who has similar interests and would potentially enjoy hanging out for an occasional roomie movie night, game night, or gym excursion.

I enjoy having roommates who are willing to put in proactive efforts to make our household space and social dynamics comfortable and joyful for everyone.

I love growing plants, reading, tv/shows, music, plant-based baking and cooking, travelling when possible and getting together with family and friends. I’m a teacher educator and a gardener/project manager and I also act as the live-in super for our small building by taking care of yard work and coordinating any needed repairs. I’m also a member of the NYC DSA and hope to become more civically active this year!

Hi, I’m Jolie! I’m looking for a considerate, stable, and clean roommate in their mid-twenties to early thirties. This means cleaning up in the common areas, keeping noise levels down at night when we are sleeping (walls are thin!), and being a generally responsible person. I prefer no pets and no men.

A bit about me: I’m in my mid-twenties and work 9-5 on a hybrid schedule in the book publishing industry. I like chatting about our days in the kitchen, trying new recipes, going to parks, visiting the library, reading, and going through my Letterboxd watchlist. We are queer-friendly!
