Multi-generational household seeks roommate in our 1800s LIC rowhouse. We are looking for an easy going, kind, creative and considerate roommate to share our home.

Our much loved roommate is moving on to her own apt and we will have the room available May 1 in our historic rowhouse off of Vernon Ave in the heart of Long Island City. We are a semi retired ceramics professor, a current professor & a student.

The room has two south-facing windows and a large double closet. It's on the 2nd floor and you would share the 2nd floor bath with one person, most of the time. The room is unfurnished but has an additional closet in the hallway. The house has its original tin ceilings, a big kitchen, washer & dryer, and a deep back yard. We like to keep our home clean and comfortable.
We are located about three blocks from MoMA PS1, and the 7, G, and E subway lines. The Hunters Point South and Long Island City NYC ferry stops are also within walking distance as well as 3+supermarkets including Trader Joes.

LIC also has something that few metropolitan spaces have: fresh air, quiet, green grass, trees, and a friendly neighborhood vibe. Gantry State Park and Hunters Point Park, which are a five-minute walk away, offers gorgeous waterfront piers, open space and plenty of beautifully landscaped areas.

Janet, 75, is originally from Louisville, Ky, and she moved to NYC in 1986. She is the lease holder and has been living in Long Island City for close to 40 years. She is a semi-retired ceramic professor, educator and artist deviding up her time in LIC and Philadelphia.
Esther is currently a sociology professor and census worker.
Nino is a high school student.
