Room available in spacious Kew Gardens apartment
**When replying, PLEASE describe a bit about yourself and what you are looking for in a living situation. I won't respond to messages that just say "is this available" or "I'm interested"without giving further info**
Hello! We have a medium sized (10'x11.5') room available in our 3bed 2ba apartment in Kew Gardens.
The room comes furnished with the furniture you see in the pictures. There's a large closet, large window that gets lots of morning light, and a built in AC unit.
The apartment features a large living room, dining nook, adequate kitchen, and you would share a bathroom with only one other person. The apartment has nice big windows and a lot of space, with built in ACs in every room.
Laundry in the basement. 3rd floor walkup in a townhouse with 3 other units in the building. Neighbors are quiet and respectful. Management is very responsive to maintenance requests.
5min walk to E/F at Kew Gardens. About 35 mins to midtown.
Even closer to LIRR which is 17 minutes to Penn Station or Grand Central.
Near Q10/Q80 buses. Very convenient to get to JFK.
The neighborhood is quiet and has cafes, deli, gym, cinema, Ctown, restaurants, and other convenient things within walking distance. Quick train ride to Trader Joe's in Forest Hills.
Near Forest Park and Maple Grove Cemetery.
There is a parking lot, and parking may or may not be available, for an additional fee.
Bills come to $40-$70 per month per person (electric, internet, renter's insurance)
About us:
We are two friends (37 and 41, she/her) who have been living together for some years now. I (Julie) am a theatre artist, kids' entertainer, and teacher. My housemate Kira is a therapist. We have differing schedules, but will hang out in the evenings, watch movies etc. It is a chill household, and though we are not neat freaks we clean up after ourselves and keep the place clean.
About you: We are looking for someone who has steady employment and can pay rent and bills, who is friendly, mature, and communicative, not passive aggressive, and cleans up after themselves. Our new housemate would need to help pitch in for basic items such as toilet paper and trash bags, and take turns taking out the trash and recycling. Please be LGBTQIA+ friendly. We are looking for someone who is at a similar place in life, and who vibes with us, and wants to commit to signing the lease with us.
One roommate only. Unfortunately no pets are allowed as per management. No smoking indoors.
**Important: We are looking for someone to renew the one year lease with us, which starts Feb 1. However, the room will be available before that (for sublet) as of mid December. So move in date is flexible. But we need to sign the lease by the end of December.
You will need to submit an application, and proof of income, as well as security deposit.
