Two rooms in large, sunny Queens apartment

Starting NOV 1st: Two rooms in a large, sunny apartment in Jackson Heights, Queens. The larger of the rooms is around 14' x 10.5' with decent closet space, and also comes moderately furnished with a bedframe, a desk, a couple of cabinets, and a bedside table. The smaller of the rooms is around 12' x 6, minus a doorway indentation, also with a decent sized closet. There is a large kitchen with plenty of storage space + a dishwasher, a large living room with views of the LIC and Manhattan skylines, and a bathroom with a tub.

The apartment is on the 4th floor of a very well-kept building, with stair and elevator access right by the door to the apartment. There are two small flights of three to five steps in the front of the building, and another couple of steps immediately inside the locked front entryway of the building. There are four sets of card-operated washers and dryers in the basement, as well as an indoor area for garbage and recycling collection; behind the building is a large and verdant courtyard accessible through the basement. A super lives in the building, and he’s very attentive.

Utilities are internet, electricity, and gas, which usually comes out to about $50-$60 a person when there are three people in the apartment.

The apartment is about three blocks away from 82nd Street Station (7), and about five blocks from Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Ave Station (E, F, M, R, 7), which is about a twenty-minute ride into Manhattan. Plenty of nearby bus service as well. Multiple larger and smaller grocery stores and corner stores within a two-and three-block walk, along with countless nearby restaurants and delivery options.

About me: I am a 29-year-old queer graduate student at SUNY who commutes a couple times a week to teach, and otherwise works from home. I read and write (dissertation!), go for a lot of long walks, and watch a lot of Star Trek, nineties sitcoms, and old documentaries. I'm partial to plants and warm light and earthen tones. I'm looking for respectful, clean, and relaxed roommates — preference given to fellow queer folks and grad students. I’m not a shut-in, and I’ve got a moderate-sized social bubble, but I have been continuing to be COVID-conscious and expect the same. no smoking in the building please. And no pets, unfortunately.

Move-in would be November 1st, ideally, although a somewhat earlier move-in day with prorated rent is possible. Move-in would require a month’s rent + a deposit equal to a month’s rent. Rent would be month to month, and roommates ideally would like to stay six months to a year.
