1 Bedroom in a Shared Home
The Room: The room comfortably fits a twin or full bed with space for a dresser and nightstand. There is a regular sized closet as well. The room has its own door leading to the outside and a small window (the room itself is on the basement level of the apartment). All of the rooms in the house are about the same size--not the biggest but the rest of the house makes up for it (we have two living rooms!)
The House: The house has been recently renovated and is very spacious. 1.5 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms total, a living room and an activity room (what we call our reading/workout room). The laundromat is around the corner. We have a small portable washing machine where we do small loads, and we tend to send the rest out. We are a 7 minute walk from the 65th st M/R and a 13 minute walk from Jackson Heights/Roosevelt Ave EFMR7
We live in a shared house. This means that we split essential groceries like milk, eggs and other perishables as well as rent, electricity and internet. We keep a clean home and all clean up after our own messes in the kitchen or living room. We often hang out in the living room and like to keep the area very communal- it is important to us that home feels like home as opposed to a whole bunch of separate renters. This should be obvious, but LGBTQ friendly, although no one in the house is queer.
We have three cats (Luna, Lucius, and Nibbles) Luna is beautiful and super soft and often lets you scratch her ears before she runs off to stare at you from a corner. Nibbles is also beautiful and the fluffiest and she will absolutely crawl into your lap, especially if you are eating something she likes. Lucius is nicknamed ?destroyer of worlds? and currently holds the title for most adorable terrorizer.
Us: Bianca, Eric and Evelyn. Late 20s/Early 30s. We all work day jobs (two teachers and a physical therapist) and enjoy kicking back in a low key way at night, sometimes with a movie and a drink and sometimes with dinner. We enjoy a chill house without conflict or drama. Say what you mean and speak what you think-there's no conflict here. We sometimes have friends over for takeout or to watch movies and invite you to do the same!
You: You are pleasant to be around (at least most of the time). You are employed or are a student with means to pay for the rental. You are committed to staying in the house until the end of the lease (October of next year). You clean up after yourself and don't mind sweeping the kitchen floor. We don't prefer one gender over another. Smokers ok as long as it is kept outside the house.
