Hello there! I am a craft retail associate looking for a roommate in my two-bedroom apartment in Forest Hills, Queens.
NOT AVAILABLE TO SUB-LET.
The apartment is on the third floor of a renovated pre-war rowhouse. Windows facing East and West (plus a skylight in the living room) provide a wealth of natural light and a lovely cross-breeze in the warmer months. In the living room there is a fold-out couch as well as a TV, and I already have the kitchen mostly stocked with dishes, pots & pans, and some small appliances.
The room offered is on the small side, but it has more privacy with a door that locks (unlike mine, I only have curtains), a closet, and a window overlooking the street. It’s unfurnished except for a window AC unit and a standing lamp left behind by a previous roommate.
Forest Hills is a lovely residential area a 15-minute walk from the E/F/M/R and LIRR, with several grocery stores (including a Stop & Shop with delivery service and a Trader Joe's), movie theaters, restaurants, and laundromats nearby. The neighborhood is mostly one-family residential homes or pre-war rowhouses converted into apartments. It's a bit like living in the suburbs, but if the suburbs were only within a short walk of the rest of the city. We're also right next to the beautiful Forest Park-- 500 square miles of forest with ample hiking/biking trails and a variety of sports fields and other areas for outdoor activities.
About me: I’m pretty quiet and clean, and I’m looking for the same in a roommate. I like to spend my free time crafting, reading, or playing video games. I have a cat, a ten-year-old sweet and rambunctious Maine Coon mix named Jessie, who is friendly with all people and animals-- though we would prefer no new pets join the household. (You can see her in the photo of the TV!)
Earliest move-in date is September 1st. Once we connect here on SpareRoom I'd like to have a Zoom call to get to know one another safely before potentially moving forward to an in-person visit.
