Looking for a like-minded individual to fill a nice sized, unfurnished room in the Ditmars-Steinway section of Astoria. The room comes with a closet and can fit a queen sized bed, desk and dresser. We have additional closet and storage space for whatever you can’t fit in the room.
The apartment itself is on a beautiful, residential block with tons of gardens, and it’s close to the waterfront and Astoria Park. It’s a 12-15 minute walk to the Ditmars N/W stop (it takes me 12 minutes, but may take a slower walker longer) and 5 minutes to the q100 and q69. No private parking, however this location is excellent for car owners. Lots of street parking available and ASP is 1x week. ** location listed is NOT accurate. Apartment is closer to 20th ave **
The apartment has a big balcony, a dishwasher, and a washer machine.
About me:
I’m a 32yo city worker with a hybrid schedule (3 days remote, 2 in office), way more easygoing than my dog is. I’m somewhat a homebody, but I have a big family in Staten Island and friends nearby that I spend time with regularly. I love where I live and I’m not bothered at all by the walk to transit. In Astoria you pretty much have to choose between being close to green space or transit, and I’m happy with my choice :)
What I’m looking for in a roommate:
- MUST be dog-friendly — summer is my anxious 5yo mutt. She requires a few meets before she warms up. She doesn’t bite but she does bark at strangers. Once she warms up she’s a total sweetheart, and she’ll do best with a roommate who isn’t intimidated by her and wants to love her
- your home is your sanctuary and you’re interested in maintaining a clean, well-decorated, peaceful environment.
- you’re mature, respectful, and aren’t interested in bringing the party home to our shared apartment. Having guests over with notice ahead of time is cool, but if you like to bring the party home regularly, we won’t be a good fit.
