Private basement suite available in a peaceful Hyattsville home, about a 6-minute walk to Hyattsville Crossing Metro on the Green/Yellow Line.

The space is ideal for a professional, commuter, or someone who wants more room than a standard bedroom. The basement includes one large private room, a private bathroom, a generous amount of storage space, a corridor area with a long desk, and an additional storage/work area with a workbench. You will also have access to the mudroom, including shared space for bikes and gear.

The private bathroom is newer and has an excellent shower with great water pressure.

Rent is $1,400/month. Utilities are split between housemates. Security deposit is $500. A 12-month lease is preferred. Available August 31 / September 1.

You’ll have full access to the shared kitchen, dining room, living room/parlor, sunroom, back deck, and laundry. In the kitchen, you’ll have access to a shared refrigerator, shared cookware/utensils, and your own full-sized double cabinet.

Parking is included. You’ll either have a street parking pass for the front of the house or access to a driveway spot where you can come and go without having to coordinate tandem parking except in rare special cases.

The house is close to Hyattsville Crossing Metro, the Mall at Prince George’s, Giant, Safeway, Target, restaurants, a movie theater, Old Town Hyattsville, local art/culture, and nearby trails. On a good day, you can get into central DC by train in around 35 minutes.

The household is calm, clean, and respectful. It will be me and one other roommate. We’re friendly but independent and are looking for someone considerate, clean, and easy to communicate with.

House expectations: no smoking, no drugs, clean common areas, quiet hours from 10 PM to 8 AM, and overnight guests are okay within reason. We are not looking to add pets right now, though occasional visiting pets may be okay with communication.

This is not a party house. We may host a small board game night about once a month, but the overall vibe is peaceful, adult, and easygoing.
