We have an open room in a modern, 3-bedroom home in the Vernon/Concordia neighborhood, nestled two blocks north of Alberta street, next to Alberta park. The location is ideal for young working professionals, students, or someone just landing in Portland. There is a bus stop right in front of the house, a max stop about 10 blocks away, University of Oregon and PCC campuses less than a mile away.

About the House and Room for Rent:

The house is a modern, 3 story duplex with an open floor plan, huge windows, abundant natural light, gas fireplace, modern appliances, laundry, a garage with street access, a comfortable back deck, and a shared office/project space. This house occupies the upper two floors, and a separate tenant runs a business out of the bottom unit. The available bedroom is one of the smaller two bedrooms, measuring 12’x12’, with a shared bathroom and spacious closet.

Expenses:

$1095/mo with a $1095 deposit. Utilities average about $100 a month. Must be able to sign a 12-month lease. The room is open starting September 15.

About us:

We are two working professionals in our late 30’s who enjoy making groups meals, having friends over for dinner parties, and working on art projects. One is a full-time graduate student attending the University of Oregon, planning to live in the house for at least one more year. The second is a new roommate, relocating to Portland with a full-time non-profit administration and advocacy job, planning to work mostly from home. We both have a lot of house plants, as well.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for a like-minded person who enjoys community, being active, and able to keep communal spaces clean and tidy. Our ideal roommate is motivated, friendly, communicative, easy to live with and open to collaboration. Some who is queer/queer friendly is a must. We are both allergic to cats, so sadly pets are not an option.
