$516 Studio room in house, a steal! → OCT 1st

Hello!

Our fourth housemate just moved into her own space, so we're looking for another great person to take her place. The room available is quite cozy yet long (6' x 14.5') with four east-facing windows of wonderful natural light. Perfect for a simple, minimal lifestyle (also plenty of basement storage space if needed)!

The house is comfortably spacious with lots of dry basement storage and usual modern amenities. There are two bathrooms, one upstairs and one downstairs (we've been sharing them in pairs). We also share the hallway walk-in closet, which occasionally can double as a tiny guest room for visiting friends/family. On the side of the house is a fenced yard with a deck. The excellent neighborhood is reasonably quiet and there is always plenty of free street parking near the house. Rent is $516 (not including utilities)—an absolute steal for what you get with the house, neighborhood, and prime location! Monthly utilities average ~$100 depending on usage, and that includes high speed internet, electricity, water, and gas (garbage/recycling paid by landlord). Security deposit would be $250 pending application approval with us and our landlords. (Our landlords are great; they've rented to us for twelve years so far.) We're looking for someone to move in by the first week of October and sign a 1-year lease (through Sep '27), with first and last month's rent. (In the case of an emergency that you'd need to move out sooner, we require that you give us at least 30 days notice in writing and help us find a suitable replacement for your room. But to make it easiest for everyone involved, it would ideally be for as long as possible.)

We are looking for someone with similar maturity and values as us—basically a reasonable, good human being 😄—cleans up after themselves (leaving the main area as clean or better after they use it), considerate and respectful of others, and doesn't smoke/do drugs/or bring the party home. No pets (nothing against them of course!; we just like a simpler lifestyle, and it's also a stipulation the lease). Must be reliable and responsible so payments can be made on time. We split the fridge/pantry space based on how we respectively use it. We're fans of general orderliness, so we'd really like to find somebody that will clean up after themselves and contribute to sweeping/helping with recycle/taking garbage out, etc. You know, just the basics.

Excluding our soon-to-be-gone fourth housemate, there are three of us living here (all guys: me, my brother, and good friend all in the 35-40s age range). We are all moderately busy and use home as time to relax and recoup. Board games, music, movies, tasty food carts, and outdoor adventures are some of our interests. We're all very nice, reasonable, and have been told we're very easy to get along with! A good way to describe our house lifestyle is: we're living individually, together. We definitely respect each other's stuff and space, but always share the house well! When we do end up hanging out, we usually find ourselves in conversation, heading to a food cart or movie, or simply enjoying some good-natured spontaneous fun.

• I work at a bakery in the Central Eastside. I adore cinema, play guitar/piano, garden, and enjoy art and conversation and good food.
• My brother does warehouse work, also Central Eastside. He's generally quiet, and often in his room when he's home, but enjoys good company for board games and movie watching. He loves music, and sometimes plays drums in our basement (respectfully, and when the least disturbance can be made).
• My other housemate is abundantly friendly, and works mostly normal hours at OHSU up on the hill. Also rock climbs, frequently adventures outdoors, and enjoys most good things in life.
