Choosing From the Deck of Strangers 1 room, share bathroom/kitchen//living room $850 utilities included Will consider one small dog Available 2/1/26 We’re both here for the same reason: sharing space and expenses with someone we don’t already know. That comes with a little risk — and, if we’re honest, maybe a little excitement too? The space: The bottom half of a stacked duplex with its own entrance and small yard. Your room is 10’ x 11’ with good natural light. We have a tiny-but-mighty full kitchen, a shared bathroom (shower only), and a new washer/dryer just outside our interior door. There’s off-street parking for one car, plus we’re two blocks from the MAX. A covered wooden back porch with a couch makes a great spot to unwind. I also have a storage shed and am open to negotiating shared use if you need extra space. Who you’d be living with: I’m an older, non-binary, queer artist and gamer. I keep a small art studio setup in one corner of the common area. My son owns the house and lives upstairs with his own housemate. This is a calm household — no yelling in anger. Home is meant to be a sanctuary of safety and mutual support. This is an alcohol-free home. Cannabis in any form is welcome. Cigarettes aren’t a fit for the space; nicotine vaping is fine. This is a queer-affirming, progressive household — MAGA politics aren’t compatible here. The dogs (important): I share my life with two very small dogs (about 5.5 lbs each). One is a rescue who is rebuilding trust and needs patience with new people. The other believes she is royalty and expects appropriate lap service. A dog person is essential here — someone who understands small dogs, respects their quirks, and genuinely enjoys sharing space with them. One additional small dog could be a great fit for our household. We’re less than a block from an elementary school and a large park, perfect for walks or just being outside. The room is available February 1st. If this sounds like a place you could feel at home — and you feel good about dogs, boundaries, and shared space — I’d love to talk and see if we’re a good match.
