Little room in a small apartment on the 4th floor. Everyone in the building is extremely nice and helpful, 80% of which are Columbia students, including myself.
I’m looking for a sanitary and respectful roommate, preferably also a student.
I’ll mostly be studying in my room, working out, or meeting with people downtown. I do still like to hangout with friends and unwind, so I’d love to hang out with my roommate and grab a bite to eat or whatever, or stay distant if you’d prefer. I’m very respectful of personal space, and I hope my roommate would be too.
I don’t often listen to music very loudly. I usually quietly listen to lofi/study music or classical music. I like to cook and bake and often use the kitchen, and I pretty good at cleaning up right after. I don’t mind cooking for someone, or even cleaning up after someone occasionally, but please don’t abuse that.
The room has a full-sized bed. I want to get a desk for the room here soon (I can expedite it if you want/need one). There’s an old fireplace mantle that I’ve used as a bookshelf. The window overlooks 114 the back of Butler Library. There isn’t much of a common area other than the kitchen (and bathroom). I’ll be getting a proper table and chairs for the kitchen, I just haven’t found the right table yet. Please don’t throw food into the sink, I don’t have a garbage disposal. There’s a refrigerator, stove and oven, and microwave in the kitchen available for use, including plates, bowls, and silverware. Please clean up after yourself, I don’t expect it to be exceptionally clean, but reasonably (don’t leave your dirty dishes in the sink for days).
The building is old. I deep, deep cleaned the bathroom before, but the tiles and corners are just stained for all eternity.
I don’t mind if you’re a bit messy, I myself have my phases, but please keep the common areas sanitary. I do expect equal cleaning responsibilities, I currently clean once a week on the weekends, and of course when necessary. I DON’T have a “no shoes policy,” but I’m not opposed to it as I do like walking around barefoot where I live.
Washer and dryer are in the basement, but are not free. There is no WiFi for the apartment, I just use Columbia’s.
I have bedding from the previous guy who lived there. He was super clean. I can have the sheets washed or you can bring your own.
I want to note that I look after my buddy’s dog from Monday night to Thursday night. His name is Khami, he’s a Keeshond :) he’s a good boy.
