I have a private furnished room to lease in a beautiful apartment in the east 70's near 3rd Ave (Manhattan). This is a full-service building with a doorman, elevator, WiFi, laundry in the basement, and attentive staff.
The apt. is in the back of the building and amazingly quiet. It's a one-bedroom - you would have the bedroom and the living room would be my domain. The apt. functions as a 2 bedroom. Both your bedroom and my half of the living room are completely private. Neither of us have to cross through each others space to access any other part of the apt. I've had roommates before, utilizing the apt. in the same way - that worked out quite well. (The kitchen has somewhat limited cooking facilities – so you won’t be making turkey dinners!)
I'm a mature, single gay guy, with a very quiet home lifestyle. This is a coop apt that I own and take great pride in.
I have just a few rules - no smoking (I can tolerate you smoking outside the building - but I prefer to have a non-smoker). No drugs, minimal alcohol (I would prefer none at all), no loud noises, and no pets. I do not drink, smoke, or do drugs.
This apt. is fully furnished and decorated in an Art Deco style. There is very little room for a roommate's personal possessions, beyond your clothing.
I'm looking for a 3-month minimum commitment and a month-to-month arrangement after that. Your rent would be $ 2000 monthly. Should we agree, I would need the first and last months' rent up front.
We would have a written agreement laying out all these specifics.
I am friendly and casual, open to conversation should that be mutually agreeable. I am semi-retired, work part-time from home, and spend a great deal of my time at home on my computer, reading, or watching TCM.
I will need some documentation of your identity and employment/income - without getting overly invasive.
Well, I think I've covered the basics fairly well.
I look forward to hearing from you.
p. s. While my apt. appears to be a formal living space, I live very casually here. The novelty wears off quickly - but it is a beautiful and special apt. The neighborhood is safe, clean, and convenient (and near the park.)
