THE SPACE: $800/month clean, simple room available in a 3-bedroom apt on the border between Bedstuy, Williamsburg, and Bushwick. Ideally starting June 1, no later than July 1. Top floor apt of a 2-apt complex house. The room is furnished with a queen mattress, bed frame, dresser, AC - plenty of room for a desk, even a futon. The window faces the backyard (no access). One shared bathroom, kitchen, and living room - all furnished, but you’re welcome to contribute as space allows.

THE NEIGHBORHOOD: Located in a calm area with a small new public park across the street, 5-minute walk from the JMZ/G Flushing Av stops, and B43/B57 bus and Citibike stations are all on our block. Great for young professionals. Maximum 35-minute door-to-door commute to most of lower Manhattan. Conveniently located from essential amenities like gym, groceries, laundry, pharmacy - walk a bit further to central Bedstuy, Bushwick, or Williamsburg for restaurants, nightlife, etc.

ABOUT US: You would be with two roommates: one cishet man who is an actor, and one cishet man who is an artist/gallery manager. We're both passionate, educated, well-traveled guys who each "do our own thing" but have found a way to share a living space. One of us is on a 3-day hybrid office schedule and usually quiet in his room; the other also spends most time in his room and works a more varied schedule. We are easy-going and respect each other’s privacy but still bring good energy when we are around the space. Not heavy kitchen users. We enjoy a casual drink or three but don’t bring the party home.

ABOUT YOU: Aside from jiving with the info above, we prefer someone aged 22-40 with an artistic leaning in their personal/professional life (but not a requirement), especially since the living room is sometimes used for recording/rehearsal and mutual understanding of our crafts is important. Communication is essential – clean, responsible, and friendly is a plus. Low maintenance, have your own thing going. Ideal if you are not fully WFH. Note that you can sometimes hear muffled conversations through the walls - if you are particularly sensitive to sound, this might not be a good fit, but roommates/neighbors are generally quiet and respectful. No smoking in the house.

LOGISTICS: First month, last month, and security deposit required for move-in, totaling $2,400 (800x3). Rent is month-to-month with the first 3 months being a trial for everyone to determine if it's a good fit (but usually by the time someone has moved in, we already know they're a good fit so the trial period really isn't official--unless glaring living challenges become apparent).

If it's a good fit, we are ultimately looking for someone who plans to be here for at least 1-2 years. Rent does not include utilities (internet, water, electricity) which run a total of roughly $50 a month (usually less) depending on the season (may add $20-$40 during summer months due to AC). We have a wonderful landlord who lives in the building and is always around whenever anything is needed (but we usually don't run into any issues, and maintenance is minimal). As long as you have reliable income and can pay on time, the landlord is cool.
