East Mordecai Room for Rent - Raleigh, NC

Hi there! I am looking for a house mate to share a ~1100 sq ft 2BR/1BA rental house in the East Mordecai neighborhood in Raleigh, NC. Rent per person is $610 + utilities (~$130 per month on average). I would prefer a female housemate who is also a young professional or graduate student, however I am most interested in living with someone who will be clean, respectful, quiet, and safe.

There is a lot to love about the house! It is an older home, so it has character and charm. Features include beautiful wood floors throughout, a great, wide front porch, and a nice yard with fig trees in the back. It is located in a friendly and safe neighborhood, and is walking/biking distance to greenways and downtown restaurants/shops. The open bedroom is expected to be unfurnished except for a full-sized bed (can be removed if not needed). A slight quirk with this older house is the washer/dryer are located in an extension off of the open bedroom. The new tenant should be open to giving occasional access to their bedroom for use of the washer/dryer for laundry. The laundry extension does provide a benefit of extra storage space for the new tenant. Shared spaces are all furnished and include living room, kitchen, bathroom (tub and shower), and a separate room that currently functions as the dining room. There is no dishwasher, so new tenants must be willing to do dishes by hand regularly. The landlord does not allow pets (cats or dogs) or smoking/vaping on the premises. There is a large shed in back that can be used to store outdoor/yard maintenance tools. Tenants are responsible for minimal yard maintenance (mow lawn, rake leaves, etc.).

Any new tenant must apply with the landlord to sign a lease/room mate addendum. Lease length is negotiable, but preference is at least one year. Any move in date after December 1 is acceptable. After the lease term ends, the rental transitions to month to month. Be prepared to prove financial capability of paying your half!

A little about me, I'm a woman in my late 20s and work full time in the conservation/sustainable agriculture sector. I work from home ~1 day/week and overall lead a quiet and low-key home life. I love to cook (and share the best results!), experiment with growing things in my rambling garden, and stay active. I'll often be off walking, rolling hips at cardio dance, or stepping on toes (accidentally!) at pick-up soccer. I laugh easy and love a good story.
