Room for rent - 1st month free if we sign by 10/4
๐ ROOMMATE WANTED โ CROSSTOWN AT CHAPEL HILL (1st month free if we sign before 10/4/26)
I'm looking for a roommate to sign a new 12-month lease with me for a 2-bedroom apartment at Crosstown at Chapel Hill, 6123 Farrington Rd, Chapel Hill, NC 27517.
There is one bedroom available, and the apartment has separate bedrooms and separate bathrooms, so youโll have your own private space.
๐ฐ Cost & Lease
Estimated cost: ~$815/month per person
Base apartment rent is around $1,500/month, averaging roughly $1,630/month with the current recurring costs
Electricity/power is split 50/50 and is not included in the ~$815 estimate
Internet is currently free somehow; this is subject to change if Spectrum eventually realizes their mistake ๐
12-month lease
Move-in: December 13th, potentially sooner depending on when my current roommate moves out
We are renewing an existing lease, so application/security deposit costs are expected to be minimal or possibly $0, but this is not finalized yet
First month is currently free if the lease is signed by October 4th
No additional roommate qualification through the complex is currently expected
๐ About Me
I'm 34, male, employed full-time, and work from home. My office is in my bedroom, so Iโm around the apartment quite a bit during the week.
My normal schedule is roughly:
Up around 8 AM
Work during the day
Usually watching TV or gaming in the living room from around 5:30โ9 PM
In my bedroom by 9โ10 PM
I don't have a car, so I'm around the apartment most days. I do tend to be gone during the day every other weekend.
Outside of work, I'm into fishing, technology, geology, space, history, and occasional gaming.
I don't have any pets and I'm single.
๐ก What Living With Me Is Like
I'm pretty easygoing, but I do like the apartment to be reasonably clean and respectful of both people's space.
Cleanliness:
I routinely vacuum, dust, and tidy the shared living room, so I'm not expecting my roommate to constantly clean up after meโor to spend their life cleaning either.
I generally:
Do my dishes every night and either put them in the dishwasher or leave them on the drying rack
Take care of trash that's sitting around
Keep the shared living areas reasonably tidy
Expect shared spaces to stay clean enough that we don't end up attracting roaches. ๐
Food & household supplies:
Food and toilet paper are separate. Things like trash bags, paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc. can be shared if we'd both prefer to do that.
Cooking:
I mostly use the microwave and stove.
Temperature:
I generally keep the apartment around 70ยฐF, but I'm willing to negotiate. ๐
๐ Noise & Social Life
I'm not against having funโI just don't want the apartment to become a party house.
The apartment's quiet hours are 10 PMโ6 AM, and I'd like us both to respect those hours.
Outside of quiet hours, I'm pretty relaxed about normal TV, gaming, music, conversation, etc.
I don't mind you having friends or overnight guests, provided they're respectful of the quiet hours and the apartment.
Drinking is completely fine with me. I just prefer not to host parties or pregame at the apartment, mostly because I'm sober and, admittedly, somewhat boring.
Significant others staying over don't bother me as long as it doesn't consistently interfere with my sleep/work schedule.
๐ฎ Shared Space
I typically use the living room after work to watch TV or play games from around 5:30โ9 PM.
I'm happy to share the spaceโit's a shared apartment, after all. We also currently have access to all of the major paid streaming services at no additional cost.
Since I work from home, you may occasionally hear me while I'm working in my bedroom. I can use headphones if you're watching TV in the living room, but I'm not going to pretend the walls are soundproof.
๐ค What I Expect From a Roommate
The biggest things for me are respect, communication, and basic consideration.
Your bedroom is your private space. I won't enter without permission, and I expect the same courtesy.
I'm direct and prefer straightforward communication rather than letting problems build up.
Disagreements, if any arise, should be handled rationally and without yelling or raised voices.
Chores are pretty simple: we will share the responsibility of taking the trash out, running/emptying the dishwasher.
We don't need to be best friends, but I'd like us to be comfortable living together and communicating when something comes up.
Basically: be respectful, communicate, clean up after yourself, and we're probably going to get along just fine.
๐๏ธ Apartment & Amenities
Your bedroom will be unfurnished. The shared living room is already furnished with:
2 couches
Tables and chairs
TV and TV stand
The apartment/community also has:
Outdoor
Resort-style pool
Fire pit and outdoor media area
Grilling stations
Hammock garden
Tennis courts
Dog park
Park-like landscaping
Panoramic lake views
Clubhouse
Game room
Fitness center
Business center
There is also parking available right next to the building.
๐ Who I'm Looking For
I'm not looking for a perfect roommate. I'm looking for someone who is respectful, reasonably clean, financially responsible, and compatible with a quieter home environment after 10 PM.
If you're someone who likes having your own space but doesn't mind occasionally hanging out in the living room, that's probably a good start.
If you're interested, send me a message with a little bit about yourself, including your age, work/school situation, typical schedule, and what you're looking for in a roommate.
I'm happy to answer questions, provide pictures/details of the apartment, and arrange a time to meet or talk before making any decisions.
