Great Location in West Asheville

Hello!

My roommate recently accepted a job out of state and has moved on, so I’m beginning to look for his replacement. I’m not in a major rush, but I am looking for the right fit.
I’m a 46-year-old cis male English teacher. I’m gone most weekdays (typically leave around 6:00–6:30 a. m. and return around 4:30–5:00 p. m.). I’m easygoing, open-minded, and very alphabet-friendly. As long as you’re honest, respectful, contribute to the household, and pay rent on time, we’ll get along just fine.

ABOUT THE APARTMENT

The apartment is the main draw here. It’s located just off Haywood Road, making it easy to walk to everything West Asheville has to offer. The space occupies most of an old Asheville house—so it comes with plenty of charm and a few quirks.
Shared spaces include:
A good-sized den with a big-screen TV, record & CD player, PS4, and multiple streaming services
A front office space (currently mine, but potentially shareable if needed)
A well-equipped kitchen with everything you need except a dishwasher (unfortunately true)

THE ROOM

Approx. 12x12 bedroom
Furnished with a double bed, shelf, bedside table, lamp, and closet
Private exterior entrance
Shared bathroom (functional, but on the small side)
There is also off-street parking.

RENT & TERMS

$950/month — ALL utilities included (electric, gas, water, Wi-Fi, etc.), saving you roughly $250/month
Long-term rentals (longer than one month) require a background check and security deposit
Rent may be negotiable for help with extra cleaning or occasional dog-walking

A FEW HOUSE NOTES

I’d prefer someone who isn’t a big partier or heavy drinker
4#0 is fine as long as it doesn’t constantly stink up the apartment
Guests and small gatherings are totally fine
I will consider select couples, though the room may be a tight fit

THE DOG

I have a 3-year-old Labrador named Shiloh—she’s sweet, calm, and well-behaved. Unfortunately, the landlord does not allow additional pets. (I might be able to talk him into a cat, but no guarantees.)
