Intentional Community Looking for Housemate
We have a cute basement bedroom available Nov 1st for $580, a 2nd floor room available Nov 1st for $625, and another Dec 1st for $615. You'd be living with, an English teacher, a UMN grad from Zimbabwe, another from Vietnam, a visiting scholar from Spain and another from France, a Good Will employee, two dogs and one cat. We're all busy with our jobs but are also avid outdoor fans and enjoy doing things together, particularly dining together on Sunday evenings. We all share in the house cleaning and yard work.
We're 3 blocks from the green line near Lexington and University in the old St. Paul neighborhood of Frogtown. We're 1.8 miles from Como Lake within walking distance of Concordia College, Hamline University and Hamline Mitchell Law School. We're 6 miles from East Bank of the UMN and 4 from the St. Paul campus. It's a 30 minute train ride or bike ride to the UMN and a ten minute train ride to down town St. Paul. We're 3 blocks from University Ave which provides lots of shops and restaurants. We're about 4 blocks from the Frogtown Farm where you can volunteer to help grow organic vegetables.
The house is a quiet, large, updated, fully furnished Victorian with 7 bedrooms, 3 large bathrooms, a living room, dining room, kitchen, den, front porch, hardwood floors, large windows, antique furniture, stone patio and lots of flower gardens that everyone can help with if they so choose.
Frogtown has always been an immigrant neighborhood, originally settled by European railroad workers and later Vietnamese, Latino, and Hmong families. It has always been an affordable neighborhood for middle and lower middle income families. You will see lots of young couples with children and seniors walking down the streets of Frogtown. Our immediate neighborhood gathers occasionally for barbecues and chitchat on Monday nights during the summer.
We are passionate about healthy living, sustainability, mindfulness, spirituality, personal growth, and having a quiet, clean, communicative, fun, and respectful home.
If you are non-smoking, non drug using, minimal consumer of alcohol, willing to eat only in the kitchen and dining room, someone who doesn't have overnight guests, financially stable, willing to help with household chores, are passionate about caring for the earth and using its resources judiciously, happy to recycle, prefer a clean, neat home and want to devote some time to hanging out with your housemates and can at least tolerate the pets, then please tell us about yourself.
We'd like to know about your experiences living with others, what you do for a living, what you like to do in your spare time, what things you are interested in, whether you like to cook and eat at home, and whether you are interested in hanging out with your housemates as well as anything you can tell us that would help us determine if you would be a good addition to the household. Thanks for your time.
