Roommate needed in 2 Bed 1 Bath Apartment

Hi, my name is Lakshya Narula, and I will begin my fifth year of PhD studies in the Department of Economics at the University of Minnesota. I also work part-time at the Minneapolis Fed.

I am giving 50% of the room rent for Aug.

The current roommate has been living with me for the last 3 years and is now graduating, so I am looking for a new male roommate. I'm an easygoing person, mostly quiet, and I do my research work. I also cook about once a day.

Requirement: A quiet, calm, non-smoker, no party, no pets person. This is important because I am in the final two years of my PhD, and I hope to find a productive environment in the apartment, as I will be spending most of my time here conducting research.

I am from India, and my current roommate is from the United States, so there is no requirement of being from India.

Apartment: Seven Corners Apartments.

2 bed-1 bath, $688 per month (including wifi, trash, and water) + ~$30 electricity, located on the West Bank and about 6-10 minutes walking, depending on your department at the University. A $250 security deposit is required (refundable), plus a $45 application fee that will be waived if you proceed with the move-in.

Amenities: 24/7 high-speed internet (included in rent), parking space (extra $35 per month), laundry facilities, gym, community room, and more.

Other things: It is not a furnished apartment. You will need your own bed, mattress, lights or lamps, chairs, table, fan, and other essentials. However, you do get two closets: one in the room and another outside, located opposite the room. There is an air conditioner in the living room, so if anyone wants to use it, it takes about an hour for the cold temperature to reach the room.

The refrigerator and oven are provided in the apartment. Apart from them, I have a toaster, a sandwich maker, a microwave oven, and a vacuum cleaner.

We usually clean once a week on Sundays, so each of us will clean once every alternate Sunday.

The current roommate will leave on Aug 1, so you can move in on Aug 2 or later. The lease starts on August 1, 2025, and ends on July 31, 2026; however, it can be amended based on your move-in date.
