Furnished, sunny and private room in Waltham

Come share this prime apartment with me. Looking for a mature (over 45) independent woman, cat-friendly and a non-cigarette smoker. The apartment has an open concept kitchen and living room, outdoor balcony and a rare private woods-facing view within a quiet condo community. Right off Rte. 128 in Waltham, MA (Trapelo/Lexington), near public transportation to Boston (bus), nearby colleges, or the tech corridor. Second-story walk up with laundry in the building. 1 parking spot is included and there is a pool available for condo residents in the summer.. Rent is $750/month, all utilities and wifi included.

Your bedroom has a double closet with mirrored doors. It is 11X11 feet, with a dresser, two bookcases, a comfy chair and small table and a full-size bed with a nightstand. Some linens are available. The floor in the room is currently hardwood, although adding a rug is negotiable. (Note that in the pictures there is a rug.) There are many birds who come to the window to be fed ? a tradition you can continue as you wish. You can, of course, decorate the room as you wish, including moving the furniture. There is a white noise machine available for your use as well as air conditioning/fan available in the summer. Double wide blinds and black out curtains allow you to control the outside light that comes in. Many plants will do well in this room.

People describe the apartment as a comfortable and cozy space. It is not a space for a minimalist. The common areas are organized, clean and well maintained; we would share chores and provision of household sundries as appropriate. Along with a dishwasher, the kitchen is fully equipped for someone who cooks and/or bakes. I do not spend much time in the kitchen and generally eat solo rather than at shared mealtimes.
There is a full size bathroom. The floors throughout are hardwood except in the bathroom and kitchen, with rugs to control any noise filtering down or upstairs.

Off the living room there is a balcony that faces the building opposite but is set up for privacy during the warm months, with a view facing the woods. The parking lot and walkway are plowed by the Maintenance crew.

The only other tenant is my cat, Twyla, who you can see in one of the pictures of the room.. She can be kept out of your room if desired. . If you are uncomfortable around cats this is not the right fit for you.

There is a lease, with some negotiable terms, esp. length of stay.

I am a 64 year old woman, retired, independent and a homebody. My interests range broadly - my academic field is Social Psychology. My foci also include healthcare and the biological sciences, human rights and social justice issues. I am a liberal and politically active. I tend to keep to myself and enjoy company in small doses; I enjoy reading, research, interesting conversation, movies, dancing, swimming and biking. The living room walls are lined with bookshelves and artifacts of a full life. I am a night owl, so my regular hours usually go late into the night: I am not disturbed by roommates with a more standard schedule. I have a good set of headphones to avoid disturbing roommates and neighbors late at night! I am a mother and grandmother, with some family in the Boston Metro area.
