Very walkable Patterson Park basement suite

Hi! I’m Claire. looking to rent out the basement of my townhouse in Patterson Park, starting August 1. The house is in 21224 with a WalkScore of 95, close to lots of restaurants, shops (including Aldi two blocks away), parks, and everyday conveniences.

Rent is $1,400/month, including all utilities: electricity, water, gas, sewer, and trash. You can optionally split the cleaning service with me as well. I’m hoping to start with a six-month lease, then switch to month-to-month after that (with 30 days’ notice). You’d have the entire basement as your private space, about 700 square feet, including an 11' x 14' bedroom and your own full bathroom. The basement door locks when you want privacy. There are currently a few cat-related things down there, but I can move those if needed.

We’d share the first floor, which includes the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Laundry is on the second floor, where I have my bedroom and office. I work from home, so I’m around during the day, but I’m respectful of shared space and privacy. I do like hanging out in the living room sometimes, watching TV (I have waaay too many streaming services), and spending time with the cats.

A little about me: I’m a 37-year-old single woman, non-smoker, social drinker, LGBTQIA+ friendly, and a board game fanatic (I own 120+!). I’m an extroverted introvert — friendly and social, but I also need downtime. I have two affectionate cats, so you must genuinely enjoy cats or at least be very comfortable living with them.

About you: I’m looking for someone who is friendly, responsible, financially stable, communicative, and comfortable with a calm, respectful home environment. No smoking and no hard drugs. You’re a woman (age ~25-44) who cleans up after yourself, communicates directly, and wants a home that feels relaxed, safe, and low-drama. I would love to go out occasionally and explore the neighborhood!
