West Village Room for Rent
I live in a West Village 5-story, 4th-floor walk-up in a 2-bedroom apartment close to Hudson River Park.
The available room is approx. 9x14 with a huge closet and 6 electrical outlets. The room is partially furnished: queen sized bed, 6-drawer bureau, small bookcase, laundry hamper, lamps, and nightstand. The wall art, desk, and rocking chair are optional. The bedroom does not currently have an air conditioner, but if you'd like to install one, go for it. I have 2 fans allocated for that room, and the past few summers haven't been scorchers.
We would share the bathroom, living room, and kitchen. The kitchen has a four-burner electric stove, microwave oven, toaster, quesadilla maker, waffle press, food processor, pots, pans, plates, bowls, utensils, and assorted whatnots. Laundromat on the premises.
There are CitiBike stands right across the street. Trader Joe's on 14th Street and another on Spring Street. Wholefoods on 14th Street and another below 23rd. Within walking distance are D'Agostino's, Gourmet Garage, corner delis, coffee shops, liquor stores, and dry cleaners. The neighborhood has many long-established restaurants, bars, and stores, but there's always something new opening up.
The rent is $1850/month including utilities.
The apartment has a very eclectic, mid-century modern vibe with wall art that shows my love of cinema. I am easygoing and respectful of privacy. I'm not looking for a new best friend, but it would be nice to occasionally share a meal or libation. I do not do virtual tours, Zoom, or Face chats. Call me old school, but you can't get to "know" someone on a computer screen.
If you're interested respond by email and we can exchange numbers to set up a day and time for you to stop by, see the apartment and allow us to chat to see if we could become roommates who won't drive each other crazy.
I have a few pet peeves and they all involve the kitchen. The biggest is never leaves dishes in the sink. As my mom was fond of saying, "If you have time to cook and eat, you have time to do the dishes."
p. s. the current pictures of the available room are old. My current roommate doesn't want pictures of her space taken and I get it.
p. p. s. in regards to references I need to know you are employed.
