Friendly Space in Washington Heights

Hello! One of our roommates fell in love and will be moving in with his girlfriend at the end of August. We are sorry to see him go (we are still friends with him) and are now looking for a new roommate.

You would be living with two women and two cats. We are open to any gender identity and are LGBTQ+ friendly. One of us works in the medical field and the other in film production. We keep things fairly quiet because we work long hours but we also enjoy fabrics company over or playing music while cooking so the place is not completely silent.

Move in date is 8/31-9/1 but there is flexibility to move in earlier.

The building has an elevator and laundry room. The neighbors have been very nice.

Other pets are welcome, they would need to be comfortable with cats. The cats are fine around another pet as long as they can be introduced one step at a time.

The bedroom that will be available can easily accommodate a queen-sized bed, dresser, end tables, and desk. The photo shows a smaller bed because the roommate now leaving opted for a larger desk for creative work and extra bookshelves. The closet has good space as well.

We do keep things tidy and clean. If you are averse to doing regular house upkeep that is fine but this is not the household for you. We are not uptight- anyone can miss a spot while sweeping or might be a couple of days behind on getting their cleaning done because life got in the way and we understand. Things happen! But we are not interested in someone who won’t do their fair share. We also all contribute to purchasing household goods.

We really like to keep things friendly. Since we work long hours, we do not necessarily get to chat or hang out a lot but the vibe is pleasant. Having friends or family over to visit is welcome as well.

Utilities and wifi are around $70 per month.

The neighborhood is great. The building itself is located on a quiet part of Fort Washington, near the 168th A/C/1 and 175th A stations. There are plenty of buses too. The community is super friendly, we have cute restaurants and yummy cheap eats nearby too.
