🛎 HOSTED LIVING
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
This isn't a sublet or a hands-off rental. I live here with my partner as the lead tenants, and I handle the day-to-day hospitality myself: housekeeping, maintenance coordination, mail and package delivery from the lobby to your apartment mailbox (or door for larger items), restocking common supplies, and general attentiveness to your stay. Tyler is a Columbia CS researcher and software engineer who keeps facilities running in the background — you'll mostly catch him in passing, early mornings or late nights.
When I'm not hosting I'm in the studio (sculpture, body molding), so I'm around the apartment most of the time — which is part of why my response times are fast.
No hired staff, no building doorperson, no property-management middleman — just two resident hosts who care that you have a good stay.

🏛 REPUTATION & REFERENCES
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Over 200 students, faculty, interns, and professionals have stayed here across the past 8 years, with 194 glowing reviews publicly hosted on well-known platforms and an average rating of 4.98 stars.
These reviews are reproduced in the 🌟 Guest Reviews section at the end of the listing (up to site character limit).
Personal references from past roommates also available on request.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📅 STAY LENGTH & FLEXIBILITY
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Minimum initial stay is 30 days (NYC law). After that, come and go freely and extend in weekly increments. Monthly rate is slightly better than weekly — see pricing below.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🛏 YOUR ROOM
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Private, fully furnished, stocked with essentials. Every room includes a closet, dresser, desk and chair, full-length mirror, nightstand, work lamps, hangers, mini-fridge, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker, window A/C (summer), steam heat (winter), and a white-noise machine.
ROOM 1 & ROOM 2 — Larger, quietest, courtyard-facing
• 9.3 m² / 100 ft²
• Queen bed (160 × 200 cm)
ROOM 3 — Compact, creative/professional setup
• 7.4 m² / 80 ft²
• Single/twin bed
• Street-facing fire-escape window
• Unique amenity set oriented to makers and remote workers
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏠 THE APARTMENT
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
A 1,200 ft², 4-bedroom, 2-bath unit in an elevator building. Hardwood floors throughout; half the apartment walled in exposed brick. Decor sits between mid-century modern and industrial modern, themed per room. Common-household layout — everyone shares access to the whole space — but every bedroom door has a push-button privacy lock.
Common areas include the kitchen, living room, laundry area, hall, foyer, and bathrooms. Use of all kitchen appliances, dinnerware, silverware, glassware, spices, coffee, tea, milk, laundry supplies, and apartment conveniences (e. g., grocery cart, iron, steamer, umbrellas, etc) is included. Anything in a common space is considered a common resource and thus available to you.
The fire escape is accessible only via Room 3 — please use only in emergencies and otherwise respect bedroom privacy.
If there's something you need but can't find, just ask. I often add common amenities for future roommates based on requests.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🛁 BATHROOMS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Two bathrooms shared between four rooms. Not formally assigned, but shelf space is labeled for the nearest rooms and roommates naturally gravitate to the closer one. Labels can be swapped to match your preference. Both are cleaned regularly and stocked with towels, soap, toilet paper, and essentials.
PRIVATE BATHROOM OPTION
Due to seasonal vacancies, one bathroom is often effectively reserved for a single roommate — this has been true for every roommate in 2026 so far. I don't guarantee it by default (only two bathrooms total), but tell me in advance if it matters to you and I'll coordinate around it.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏢 THE BUILDING & NEIGHBORS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Post-war construction, elevator, recently renovated unit with original molding and finishes preserved in public spaces. Warm neighbors who look out for each other. No tiptoeing required — roommates are explicitly permitted by NYC public policy and our lease. You'd be a legal resident.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🔇 NOISE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
Quiet for Manhattan — especially the courtyard-facing rooms, especially with windows closed. No loud neighbors share a wall with us. Local character includes violinists next door, an oboist across the courtyard, an operatic baritone above us, and a show-tune tenor two floors down — mostly practice in the afternoons, all barely audible with windows shut. Pigeons occasionally cosplay as roommates on the AC units; I keep a small fake owl that scares them off.
For light sleepers, every room has a white-noise machine, earplugs are available, and I'll address any small disturbance I can. That said: Manhattan is among the loudest cities in the world. Set expectations accordingly if you're coming from a rural or suburban setting.
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
👥 YOUR HOSTS & HOUSEHOLD
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
I'm Stacy — your host and day-to-day point of contact. I'm a sculptor specializing in rapid prototyping and direct body molding; outside of studio time I read and cross-stitch. I'll be the one you message with, meet at move-in, and check in with throughout your stay.
Tyler — my partner, Columbia CS researcher. Writes music, runs, builds things. Mostly absent during the week; you'll catch him in passing, usually early mornings or late nights. Friendly when you do.
Philippe — our hypoallergenic Pointed Russian Blue. Lives mostly out of sight; comes out for head scratches and gazing out his "thinking window." Only in common areas with me present or when residents want to meet him.
The house leans chill, not party — I cultivate a quiet, focused atmosphere inside, with a couple of low-key seasonal hangouts. No cable, no common-area TV; WiFi reaches 2,528 Mbps on multi-gig fiber, so stream and work-from-home freely. Quiet hours after 10pm.
NO REQUIREMENTS regarding race, sex, gender, nationality, religion, politics, age, ability, occupation, or lifestyle. My only ask is mutual respect. Bringing a dog or cat involves a fee (see pricing), and I ask that pets stay in your room while inside the apartment.

Staying with Stacy and Tyler was a fab experience. I needed a comfortable place to work from home for the first two weeks of my month-long stay, and absolutely anything I could have possibly needed was provided. They gave me an extra monitor, had all the cords for me to work online, and the desk and chair were super comfortable. I also had access to all the spices, oil, pots, pans, and anything someone might need to feel at home. Phillippe the cat is adorable and would keep me company while I worked. I also had some lovely chats with Stacy, Tyler, and one of the roommates. Such a great place to stay — I can't recommend it enough!

Great location — close to subway, Whole Foods, TJ Maxx, and restaurants of various cuisines. Great hosts: friendly, considerate, and attentive to detail. Very tidy, clean and elegant apartment, nice bed, washing machine and dryer. Stacy is so kind to let tenants use the utensils, coffee, and tea. And if you're a cat lover, Phillipe the smart and polite cat will be your new company. Great experience staying with Stacy and Tyler.

My month-long stay at Stacy and Tyler's was absolutely perfect. The apartment is comfortable, clean, well-appointed, and full of charm. The neighborhood is near the park, plenty of great restaurants, and several subway lines. I loved working from the apartment — the internet and office setup was stellar. Beyond the apartment and location, Stacy and Tyler are just really awesome humans. I absolutely recommend this place for the solo-traveling, work-from-home type wanting a real New York experience around good people.
Jilissa (New York, NY (Boulder, CO) August 2023: ⭐5
Stacy and Tyler are amazing hosts! I don't have enough words to express how thoughtful, kind, and generous they were. I spent 3 months in New York as a solo female traveler for an internship (also my first ever Airbnb experience). Stacy made me feel right at home and not once did I feel unsafe or uncomfortable. They provided everything you could possibly imagine to live comfortably. Whenever I'm in New York I'd love to stay here again — 100% recommend!
José Henrique (Brasília, Brazil) April 2023: ⭐5

Owen (New York, NY) March 2023: ⭐5
Tyler and Stacy are the consummate hosts. I'd never stayed in an Airbnb that wasn't entirely mine before and so was a bit apprehensive, but it couldn't have gone more smoothly. I saw them only twice over the course of an entire week (and both interactions were lovely). They have the guest experience super dialed-in — it's impressive. Highly recommend.
Peter (London, United Kingdom) March 2023: ⭐5
This place is simply the most delightful, easy, and pleasant Airbnb I've stayed at. You couldn't have better hosts — I wish I could live here all the time!
Nisreen (New York, NY) March 2023: ⭐5
Stacy and Tyler were phenomenal hosts. This was one of the most thoughtfully laid out Airbnbs I have ever stayed in. And one BIG PLUS:
the room is extremely quiet — you hear no noise from the hall or other rooms (I didn't realize there was another guest in the apartment until I left). The place is spotless, the bed is comfortable, and the hosts are extremely thoughtful. 10/10 would stay again. Easy recommendation for anyone who needs access to the UWS/Harlem.
Hersh (New York, NY) March 2023: ⭐5
Tyler and Stacy were excellent hosts! The apartment was spacious, clean, and in a very walkable neighborhood. They also provided me with a snack basket, which was very kind. Both are friendly and fun to talk to. Overall, a great experience!

Great hosts, great apartment. I had a couple of questions late in the evening before booking and they responded immediately — I booked right after. Albina (Petrovac, Montenegro) February 2023: ⭐5
One couldn't wish for a better place to stay in NYC. The apartment is crisp clean and very cozy, and the bathroom was always pristine. The room is fairly small but comfortable, with a nice homey atmosphere you miss so much while traveling. I also liked the neighborhood — close to Central Park and the metro, very easy to get around, safe to walk, with shops and restaurants around the corner. Stacy is pure gold, very friendly and open. Thank you for your hospitality — I'll definitely come back!
Samantha (New York, NY) February 2023: ⭐5
Very comfortable accommodations, extremely friendly, and had everything I needed plus some. Great space to do work or school. Quick access to the 1, B & C trains, grocery stores & restaurants. The building has an elevator, which was wonderful for transporting heavy luggage (not a common feature in NYC apartments). Felt completely comfortable leaving my belongings in the room while I stepped out each day. Highly recommend, and I'll return!
James (London, United Kingdom) February 2023: ⭐5
My stay was great. The room was lovely and Stacy and Tyler were excellent hosts. The neighbourhood has lots of nice restaurants and is near good public transport. Would stay again.
Santiago (New York, NY) February 2023: ⭐5
This is a wonderful place to rest your head. I stayed here for my first month in the city, and loved it — it provided a fantastic landing pad before I found my own apartment. Stacy does a fantastic job of keeping the place clean and organized, and the amenities are incredible. Between the stunning bathroom, gorgeous kitchen, and comfortable bed, I was more than pleased. Sweet kitty Philipe was a nice added charm (he mostly stays in the hosts' room, so no worries about allergies). Highly recommend for anyone looking for a clean, quiet, welcoming place in the city!
Chloe (Corona, CA) February 2023: ⭐5
Really enjoyed my stay! Compared to other spots I've stayed at in the city, this one was extremely clean. The room came with two computers, microwave, fridge, laundry basket, robe, and full-length mirror! Towels were provided throughout the stay, and it's walking distance from the train. Tenants were very respectful. I'd definitely book this spot again!
Ismael (Madrid, Spain) February 2023: ⭐5
I had more dealings with Stacy than Tyler, but the truth is that everything was a 10. She was very nice and understanding, the apartment was great, very comfortable and well located. I felt very comfortable — you have everything you need. 100% recommended.

I made a quick weekend trip to NYC for a show, and this place was perfect! Stacy was super helpful and friendly, and the apartment is just as nice as it looks online. My bedroom was surprisingly quiet, and even had a white noise machine. Nice touches like a spare toothbrush and snacks, and they provide excellent transit instructions. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting the West Side or other parts of Manhattan.
Justin (Cambridge, MA) January 2023: ⭐5

Marc (California) January 2023: ⭐5
This is a superb place to stay. Tyler really pays attention to detail and comfort in a way I have rarely seen in many years as an Airbnb consumer. Highly recommended.
Richard (Royal Leamington Spa, United Kingdom) January 2023: ⭐5
Tyler's apartment is a gem. Great location with Central Park only a stone's throw away and plenty of dining choices within a couple of blocks. I travelled the easy journey from a high-end hotel on Times Square and was more comfortable here. The place is spotless and there's every convenience and thoughtful touch. I loved hanging out with Stacy and Tyler, but had privacy when I needed to get my head down for work. Why are you still reading? Just book it!
Samuel (New York, NY) January 2023: ⭐5
Great place to stay if you need a quiet and very clean room/apartment. A minute away from Central Park and subways.
Hyo Jeong (New York, NY) January 2023: ⭐5

Stacy was a great host and really responsive. The place was lovely and beautifully decorated, which gives it a personal touch. Check-in was smooth and the entire place was spotless. It truly was a great find in NYC at a great price, and subway stops are walkable. Would definitely recommend.
Michael (New York, NY) December 2022: ⭐5
I stayed for 3 months for an internship and had an amazing experience! Location is great, near many restaurants and stores and between 2 major subway stops (5 min walk). The bathrooms and kitchen are well stocked. The washer/dryer in the room was very convenient, and there's a nice living room to work or eat in. Stacy and Tyler were very helpful with everything, even providing things I'd forgotten like batteries. Their cat Phillipe is the nicest, most affectionate cat I've met. Really felt like home the entire time.
Ying (Beijing, China) December 2022: ⭐5
Amazing host and apartment! Convenient location and quiet neighborhood. Stacy is so nice and helpful. The apartment is warm, organized, and very clean. Our room was cozy — especially the bed and pillows! Sweet Stacy even prepared snacks in the room. And Philipe is super friendly and soft. Definitely loved this experience.
Kristine (New York, NY) December 2022: ⭐5
Tyler and Stacy's place is quiet and cozy with lots of amenities! You have your own mini fridge and microwave in the room, filled with water, tea, and a small stash of snacks. Everything is kept clean and well organized, making it ideal to come back and relax. Bonus:
there's a friendly house cat who loves to greet you before heading into your room to watch the birds from the window!
Suttipong (Boston, MA) November 2022: ⭐5
I was in the city for the NYC Marathon. Stacy and Tyler were great hosts, as you can already tell from other reviews. The place was nice, clean, and quiet. My room was large and had everything, and I was able to rest fully and prepare for the race. The building also has an elevator, which was really useful post-race! Will definitely stay again when I'm back in town!
Daniel (Los Angeles, CA) October 2022: ⭐5
Clean. Convenient. Comfortable. No drama. These folks run their Airbnb like clockwork.
María Laura (Buenos Aires, Argentina) October 2022: ⭐5
The stay in Tyler & Stacy's apartment is everything a traveler could wish for: cleanliness, order, comfort, independence, and ideal communication with the hosts. The apartment and room have all the comforts, everything is super well organized, the room is quiet and the bed is extremely comfortable. The location is optimal — safe, close to the subway, with several dining options nearby. There's nothing I could object to. I wouldn't hesitate to stay again on my next visit to NY!
Elena (Toronto, Canada) August 2022: ⭐5
This might be the best place on Airbnb! I stayed with Tyler and Stacy for about two weeks; communication was friendly and quick, and they're really great people. Both the room and apartment are very clean and have everything one could possibly need — a minifridge full of snacks and soda, a kettle plus French press in the room, even hairspray in the bathroom. The space is quiet and great for rest. The neighborhood has restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores, and the subway is five minutes away. The cherry on top is the cutest cat, who instantly treats you like an old friend.
Sarah (Amsterdam, Netherlands) July 2022: ⭐5
I truly had an amazing month here! The apartment is clean, spacious, and has everything you need. It's close to shops, restaurants, the subway, and located between Central Park and Riverside Park — both great for escaping the busy parts of the city. Stacy is incredibly sweet and was always there when I had questions. I really appreciated her checking in on me during the first few days. And Philippe the cat made my stay even more perfect — such a sweet, well-behaved cat. I miss him already. I felt at home the whole month and recommend this apartment to everyone!
Markus (Graz, Austria) June 2022: ⭐5
The hosts Stacy and Tyler were so helpful and polite. They welcomed me as a friend and I felt at home from the first minute. The apartment has literally everything you need for a longer stay and is really spotlessly clean. The location is very quiet for New York and I felt very safe. Two metro stations are a few minutes away (1/2/3 on Broadway or A/B/C on Central Park). One of my best Airbnb stays ever.
Sue (Los Angeles, CA) May 2022: ⭐5
I'm a transplanted native New Yorker who knows the city very well. Great place. Great location. Great price. Clean and quiet. The hosts are gracious and accommodating and always available. I arrived early before my room was ready and was able to drop off my bags. Coffee was offered, as well as a lovely chat with Stacy. Can't say enough about this place — I'll definitely be back.

Staying at Tyler & Stacy's was exactly what I needed after a long flight from Spain. They were so kind and accommodating. I felt like I underpaid for what they gave in return. There are simply intangibles that you can only understand through firsthand experience. Thank you both for thinking through every detail of the stay.

Extremely kind host. The location is ideal, just minutes from the 1 train, which gets you anywhere from Times Square to Columbia University. The place is fantastic — great bed, very comfortable pillows, and the apartment is furnished with teas and coffee. Multiple restaurants right across the street. A must-stay for anyone visiting Columbia or NYC. Thanks again!

Absolutely best value! So much better than the $300+ hotel we stayed at our first night in midtown. It has everything we need — clean bathrooms, laundry, comfy room. It's in a safe, serene community close to Central Park and Columbia University, about 20 min by Uber to midtown and not far from many attractions. Stacy and Phil (the cat) kept us good company and made us feel at home. Big thank you to Stacy and Phil!

The place is exactly as presented here. Nice neighborhood, close to the subway stations, the place is clean, quiet, people are kindly and very helpful and the place has all the amenities for a good stay. Highly recommended.

What is there to say — the hosts are amazing, the bed is extremely comfortable, and the shower is big enough to have a party in! There's a cute little cat named Felipe who loves to watch the pigeons out your window. I had an amazing stay and would recommend this place to anyone. The location is prime, less than ten minutes' walk from either station, bodegas on every corner, and a real sense of community. I didn't feel like a tourist here, just someone simply passing by.

Stacy (whom I was in contact with the whole time) was a true host. Incredibly welcoming place. If you know NYC, you know how some spaces can be — it's clear they went above and beyond to make a house that caters to guests. It works. And there's snacks!
Julie (Huntington Beach, CA) December 2022: ⭐5
This was my first time in a shared Airbnb and I was highly skeptical — you never know what you're going to get! My friend and I were very pleased. Stacy allowed us to check in slightly early and was very friendly when we met her. The room was super clean, the fridge was stocked with drinks, and the bathroom was clean. Definitely would come back!
Alison (New York, NY) November 2022: ⭐5
I had a great stay with Stacy and Tyler (and their cat Phillipe). I loved all the amenities offered — the espresso machine in particular — and felt very comfortable and welcomed. The other Airbnb guests were all respectful and friendly. As a night-shift nurse I appreciated the sound machine, but the apartment was quiet and cozy enough that I could have done without.
Loretta (Oakland, CA) October 2022: ⭐5
I wish I had booked this place for longer. Lots of nice amenities for the price. Everything was very clean and quiet. Also nice to be so close to Central Park and a subway station.
Jordan (Oakland, CA) July 2022: ⭐5
Tyler and Stacy were friendly and responsive (Stacy suggested good places to find food nearby), and my clean room was just great. The kitchen was well stocked to prepare simple meals, the bathroom was nice, and the modern washer and dryer cleaned my clothes well. I'll certainly look at their place for a future visit.

Stacy and Tyler are very lovely. They are easy to chat with and helpful. I loved their flat and my room was comfortable. There were many thoughtful touches that made my stay feel special. Highly recommend and look forward to my next stay!
Maye (San Francisco, CA) July 2022: ⭐5
Very clean and well-appointed room with its own A/C, microwave, mini-fridge, ample power outlets and lighting. Stacy was a great host, communicating clearly before our stay and allowing us to drop off our bags before check-in (a huge bonus!). Apartment and neighborhood were quiet, and it was surprisingly easy to park on the street. Elevator and in-unit laundry were helpful. Convenient to shops, Columbia University, and Central Park.

Never felt so at ease in an Airbnb. Great location and calm base in the city. Stacy and Tyler were so helpful, accommodating, and very quick to respond to queries. I would stay here again in a flash.

I loved my stay with Tyler and Stacy! I unfortunately wasn't able to meet Tyler, but Stacy was an incredibly gracious host. There are so many nice amenities (fridge, microwave, kettle) within the room itself, and the bed is super comfortable — a great place to rest after being out in the city all day. Philippe was also a wonderful companion in the mornings and evenings.

This place is a dream. I got to enjoy the awesome company of Stacy and Tyler, which was the highlight of my week. It's conveniently located and the hosts were very gracious with my late flight and checkout. You won't find two better people to share a house with.

Elijah (New York, N) March 2019: ⭐5
The hosts have a beautifully renovated home with plenty of amenities and very clean spaces. During my trip I bought an unlimited 7-day subway pass ($32), and with a short walk to the 1 train, I wasn't worried about transportation at all. My room came with a small desk, mini fridge, closet space, complimentary snacks, and of course the bed. They offered use of the kitchen, as well as very good coffee (espresso machine and French press). I was pleasantly surprised how much was offered and how well put together the space is, at such a great price. Highly recommend — plus the hosts are very friendly!

I am amazed at the quality and cleanliness here. From the first moment they took care of me — we had a problem with one of the doors, and they helped me solve it at all costs. The room was lovely, with a mini-fridge and some welcome snacks and drinks. The bathroom was immaculate; not even a hotel would top it. The place is near the subway and Central Park, and you can get downtown in a few minutes. Thank you again for everything!
