About the room The bedroom (roughly 12m2 or 130 sq ft) is part of a large 4 bed/2 bath apartment in a full amenity building in the heart of the Upper East Side. The room is a flex room with an amazing private balcony and lots of natural light. Rent is currently $1825 plus around 40$ for Coned/wifi each month. We are looking for someone to takeover the current lease for May-July and then renew for another year. The room will be available from April 25 and if interested there is the possibility to take over some furniture as well (Queen bed, desk & chair, cupboard, balcony furniture etc.) Requirements are 40x the rent, a good credit score and approval by the leasing office.
About the building The common areas are fully furnished and all bedrooms have central AC/heating units that can be controlled separately in each room. The building is a full amenity building with 24 hour doormen, a gym in the basement (70$/month, including pool and Sauna), a Mail room, an outdoor courtyard, and a laundry room on every floor. The building is right at the intersection of 86th and 2nd. There are tons of restaurants, pharmacies and shops nearby and this location is surrounded by tons of transportation options. The Q is outside the front door, the 4/5/6 is 2 blocks west, the ferry is 2 blocks east (via Carl Schurz Park) and the M86 crosstown bus is outside the building at the corner. The building is also only .5 miles from both Carl Schurz Park and Central Park, so plenty of access to outdoor space!
About us and who we are looking for Your roommates are all professional women (30-35) working in New York. We are quite busy with life and work from the office/lab mostly with WFH a couple days a week, but we enjoy hanging out in the living room or going for a picnic in Central Park from time to time.
