🛎 HOSTED LIVING
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

This isn't a sublet or a hands-off rental. I live here with my partner as the lead tenants, and I handle the day-to-day hospitality myself: housekeeping, maintenance coordination, mail and package delivery from the lobby to your apartment mailbox (or door for larger items), restocking common supplies, and general attentiveness to your stay. Tyler is a Columbia CS student researcher and software engineer who keeps facilities running in the background — you may catch him on his way to/from campus.

When I'm not hosting I'm in the studio (sculpture, body molding), so I'm around the apartment most of the time — which is part of why my response times are fast.

No hired staff, no building doorperson, no property-management middleman — just two resident hosts who care that you have a good stay.

🏛 REPUTATION & REFERENCES
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Over 200 students, faculty, interns, and professionals have stayed here across the past 8 years, with 194 glowing reviews publicly hosted on well-known platforms. Message me and I'll point you to the old listings (SpareRoom doesn't allow external links in ads, but I can share them by DM). Personal references from past Columbia roommates available on request.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
📅 STAY LENGTH & FLEXIBILITY
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Minimum initial stay is 30 days (NYC law). After that, come and go freely and extend in weekly increments. Monthly rate is slightly better than weekly — see pricing below.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🛏 YOUR ROOM
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Private, fully furnished, stocked with essentials. Every room includes a closet, dresser, desk and chair, full-length mirror, nightstand, work lamps, hangers, mini-fridge, microwave, electric kettle, coffee maker, window A/C (summer), steam heat (winter), and a white-noise machine.

ROOM 1 & ROOM 2 — Larger, quietest, courtyard-facing
• 9.3 m² / 100 ft²
• Queen bed (160 × 200 cm)

ROOM 3 — Compact, creative/professional setup
• 7.4 m² / 80 ft²
• Single/twin bed
• Street-facing fire-escape window
• Unique amenity set oriented to makers and remote workers

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏠 THE APARTMENT
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

A 1,200 ft², 4-bedroom, 2-bath unit in an elevator building. Hardwood floors throughout; half the apartment walled in exposed brick. Decor sits between mid-century modern and industrial modern, themed per room. Common-household layout — everyone shares access to the whole space — but every bedroom door has a push-button privacy lock.

Common areas include the kitchen, living room, laundry area, hall, foyer, and bathrooms. Use of all kitchen appliances, dinnerware, silverware, glassware, spices, coffee, tea, milk, laundry supplies, and apartment conveniences (e. g., grocery cart, iron, steamer, umbrellas, etc) is included. Anything in a common space is considered a common resource and thus available to you.

The fire escape is accessible only via Room 3 — please use only in emergencies and otherwise respect bedroom privacy.

If there's something you need but can't find, just ask. I often add common amenities for future roommates based on requests.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🛁 BATHROOMS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Two bathrooms shared between four rooms. Not formally assigned, but shelf space is labeled for the nearest rooms and roommates naturally gravitate to the closer one. Labels can be swapped to match your preference. Both are cleaned regularly and stocked with towels, soap, toilet paper, and essentials.

PRIVATE BATHROOM OPTION
Due to seasonal vacancies, one bathroom is often effectively reserved for a single roommate — this has been true for every roommate in 2026 so far. I don't guarantee it by default (only two bathrooms total), but tell me in advance if it matters to you and I'll coordinate around it.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🏢 THE BUILDING & NEIGHBORS
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Post-war construction, elevator, recently renovated unit with original molding and finishes preserved in public spaces. Warm neighbors who look out for each other. No tiptoeing required — roommates are explicitly permitted by NYC public policy and our lease. You'd be a legal resident.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
🔇 NOISE
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

Quiet for Manhattan — especially the courtyard-facing rooms, especially with windows closed. No loud neighbors share a wall with us. Local character includes violinists next door, an oboist across the courtyard, an operatic baritone above us, and a show-tune tenor two floors down — mostly practice in the afternoons, all barely audible with windows shut. Pigeons occasionally cosplay as roommates on the AC units; I keep a small fake owl that scares them off (Columbia students may repurpose it as a mascot).

For light sleepers, every room has a white-noise machine, earplugs are available, and I'll address any small disturbance I can. That said: Manhattan is among the loudest cities in the world. Set expectations accordingly if you're coming from a rural or suburban setting.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━
👥 YOUR HOSTS & HOUSEHOLD
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

I'm Stacy — your host and day-to-day point of contact. I'm a sculptor specializing in rapid prototyping and direct body molding; outside of studio time I read and cross-stitch. I'll be the one you message with, meet at move-in, and check in with throughout your stay.

Tyler — my partner, Columbia CS researcher. Writes music, runs, builds things. Mostly absent during the week; you'll catch him in passing, usually early mornings or late nights. Friendly when you do.

Philippe — our hypoallergenic Pointed Russian Blue. Lives mostly out of sight; comes out for head scratches and gazing out his "thinking window." Only in common areas with me present or when residents want to meet him.

The house leans chill, not party — I cultivate a library-like atmosphere inside, particularly during exams, with a couple of planned semester hangouts at the start and end of terms. No cable, no common-area TV; WiFi reaches 2,528 Mbps on multi-gig fiber, so stream away. Quiet hours after 10pm.

NO REQUIREMENTS regarding race, sex, gender, nationality, religion, politics, age, ability, occupation, or lifestyle. My only ask is mutual respect. Bringing a dog or cat involves a fee (see pricing), and I ask that pets stay in your room while inside the apartment.
