Hello! I’m looking for a roommate to fill one bedroom in my 2BR apartment starting from Jan 1, 2025 for a short term or month to month lease through the winter and spring.
My sister and I live in the apartment but both of us travel a lot for work and will only be around a couple times a month, so we’re leaving one room for both of us whenever we’re in town, and subletting the other room until we’re both back more consistently in the city. I’m a 26 y/o who works in tech and my sister is a 23 y/o recent illustration grad from Parsons - it’ll be rare that we’d be both there together but we would be your often-itinerant roomies! :)
The apartment is located just a few minutes walk from Grand Central and 51st station, right on the 4/5/6 line and the 7 from Grand Central. Also a close walk to the E & M trains at Lex and 53rd.
The room is currently furnished with a full size bed and mattress, desk, chair, dresser and wardrobe (see photos). You may bring your own furniture if there’s space, but we cannot remove any of the existing furniture.
The rest of the apartment includes a living room with TV, kitchen and bathroom. We like to keep everything very clean and organized so I’m looking for someone who will also be able to keep their space and the common spaces clean (ie. no shoes inside, shared cleaning of kitchen and bathroom, etc.)
Utilities are split half and half. Electric (including heat and AC) can range from $35-$150 total depending on the season. The wifi is also split half and half and costs $89.99 total ($44.99 per person), but is subject to change if Spectrum increases prices (happens about once a year unfortunately). Gas and water are covered by the landlord. There is also coin laundry in the building, shared by 4 other units (all young people in their mid 20s to early 30s). No smoking or pets (building rules).
Please message me if you would like more photos, a FaceTime or in-person tour or if you have any other questions!
