At the end of the month, I’ll be heading out on a trip and would love to sublet my room for one month.
The room is spacious and full of natural light, furnished with a queen bed, a dresser, a desk, and an office chair (and a cat, who—depending on his mood and your energy—may occasionally double as a pillow).
The apartment is a two-bedroom and, of course, fully furnished and equipped. As a bit of a foodie, I’ve stocked the kitchen with just about every spice you could imagine to elevate your cooking. It’s located on the first floor in Inwood, uptown Manhattan (the northern tip of the island), just two blocks from the 207th Street station (A and 1 subway lines), and about 25 minutes from Midtown. It’s also a 10-minute walk to The Met Cloisters (arguably the most beautiful museum in the city) and only 4 minutes from Inwood Hill Park, home to Manhattan’s largest remaining native forest—step inside and it genuinely feels like you’ve wandered far beyond the city.
This listing is for cat lovers only, as I have two: Bambú (the aforementioned pillow-cat) and Pantera (the philosopher-cat). You won’t be responsible for their care; however, it’s important that you truly enjoy cats, as you’ll be staying in their home, and they will naturally seek out your company. Bambú, for instance, will require a daily “toll” of back scratches—especially if you happen to be on your way to the bathroom.
You’ll be sharing the apartment (though not the room, of course) with a young professional—very kind and discreet—who will be taking care of the cats.
In your first message, please tell me a bit about yourself and your experience with cats. If you’re in New York City or nearby, it would be ideal to schedule a visit soon, as my departure is approaching.
